Who comes out of the Wild Wild West?

I wrote an article earlier today on who I believe will come out of the West.

The West is going to be an absolute Dogfight. I think there are a lot of teams that can go all the way. I think a lot will depend on playoff matchups, homecourt advantage, etc.

I think the Lakers, Suns, and Spurs are going to be real threats, but teams like Utah and Dallas have shot as well. It will be a great postseason of basketball.

I think it really depends on the Match-ups in the playoffs and home-court advantage.

Even Hornets, Jazz, & Rockets have a chance to get atleast to the WCF and even maybe the Finals.

You have: Mavs, Lakers, Spurs, Suns, Jazz, Hornets, & Rockets with a legit chance to get to the Finals, thats 8 Freaking Teams.

The chance that any of NO/Utah/Houston/Denver/GS wins is definitely higher than that any single of those other teams does, so that's the most likely answer and I have to pick it.

Not sure how i can make an argument for the suns and lakers yet it is a lot of guess work involved with their projections so I voted for the safe vote in the Spurs.

I don't see how you can have that poll without New Orleans. I wouldn't necessarily pick them, but I think they have as good of a shot of winning it all as anyone you listed.

In reality, there are just so many good teams. San Antonio, LA, and Phoenix look better on paper, but there is certainly no Western Playoff team that I would consider a surefire knock out in the 1st round by any other team.

Well then your poll starts out useless, since your asking who do we think will come out of the West but then remove the bulk of the options.

You don't need to contain them all. Bynum is injured and O-damn is a headcase. Yes, Kobe is a monster but he doesn't seem to know what an assist is. Gasol is a great player but how many shots will he get in that crew?

Check Gasol stats he rarely shoots over 15 shot with us, and still nets in 20+. The game only gets easier when Bynum comes back. Don't worry about Pau's shot attempts.

I have to admit, I haven't been a big Houston backer throughout the years, but right now they are just stepping up their game big time. It'll be interesting to see whether or not they can keep this up. I still don't believe their are in the class of PHX, LA or SA.

LOL at the Will Smith comment, I guess he does look like Robert Horry, never realized it.

honestly its way too hard to tell right now. im sure the spurs, suns, and lakers will be slight favourites but its too hard to tell. a lot will depend on matchups and who gets homecourt, etc.

Spurs seem to be a different team this year...

I'd say its between the Lakers and Suns... These two teams have a comparable starting lineup in terms of talent but the Lakers bench is waaaay better... I'll take the Lakers

Depends on who has the homecourt IMO.

That's a good point, sucks that only 1 team can come out of the West. If we had the top 16 teams overall make the playoffs it would be better imo.
