It happened several times before , Stack was just the first one to be stupid enough to talk about it .
If this trade is canceled now Dallas has a big problem , you may want to be succelful with Harris but Cuban just screwed that possibility.
Do you honestly believe that if you keep the team like it is this team will still work ? The events will most likely have teared the team apart .
Just look at the Bulls and what the trade talks did to them before the season .
The events just occured where more then just talks , NJ didn't sit out Kidd , Allen and Wright just for fun .
Loose Lips Stackhouse Could kill Kidd to Dallas Trade

Harris for Kidd was too much as Dallas would be getting the 2008 Kidd, not the Hall of Fame Kidd. And Kidd has never won a championship, putting him on the Dallas Nets would not make a difference.
Howard.......Jerrerfon
Dirk............Carter
Dampier......Magliore
Kidd............Kidd
Then on top of that, they lose Diop? 2 picks? Cash? That's icing on the cake for NJ. Then Stack finally pushed it over for Cuban.
The 2008 Kidd is still good enough to greatly improve their chances to win them a title with what is left. And that's the goal isn't it? Win a title? The Mavericks as currently constututed are not a title team. Jason Kidd could very well make the difference. I think he's maybe the best point to play in the league since Thomas or Magic., maybe even since Walt Frazier. He gives you super defense, super floor leadership, and the kind of rebounding you seldom see from a guard. He's not a great scorer, but Dallas already has enough scorers--and he would make them all better.
I say again--Dallas is stupid not to make this move.

The Mavs are heading for the Lottery/ first Round Losses anyway when Dirks prime is over .
Why not aquire a guy who has 3-4 years left in his tank ( and yes Kidd has that left ) and would help to increanse the chance of a championship as long as Dirk still has it ?
They'd have to rebuild anyway when Dirk is done .

Teams would just shut up.
Why not change the rule instead of doing something stupid like this?
They did change the rule because players returning like this circumvents the salary cap. Looks like they'll have to change it some more so they can't return for a year instead of for 30 days.
