Time Magazine: KG, Ray make fun of McHale's playing style

Pierce, KG and Allen hated the Celtics growing up!
(this is the first time I've heard Ray and Kevin actually mention that)

Who was your least favorite Celtic? Now be honest.
Pierce: [Current Celtics general manager] Danny Ainge! He was just always that guy who got up under the players' skin and always tried to pick a fight. Just real feisty. I was the one guy who was like, "Man, tell him to stop!"
Allen: Danny was a whiner.

And Kevin, you didn't like Kevin McHale, your old GM in Minnesota?

Garnett: McHale, man, he would always get a bucket at the wrong time. He would trick somebody with the up and under, and it was like, "Awww, man."
Allen: And you'd look at him run back down the court, you'd call him Frankenstein.
Garnett: His shoulders never moved!

You guys aren't afraid to tick off your old bosses

You guys have exceeded expectations so far. But these buddy movies sometimes end badly. People will say, "This can't last forever" or "The supporting cast isn't that great." Make your case for why this is going to last.
Pierce: Ubuntu.
Garnett: Just because you haven't heard of someone doesn't mean they're not effective. You have three noticeable names that overshadow other names. I love this team. I've never been on a team, A through Z, everybody understands not only the objective, the goal, but everybody has sacrificed their own to that. Yeah, you might not know [point guard Rajon] Rondo. You might not know Perk [center Kendrick Perkins].
Allen: That's how you get beat.
Garnett: That's exactly how you get beat.

I also find it interesting that they brought up the 1980s stereotype that the celtics were not a "cool" team, referencing a scene in the movie Do the Right Thing.

spike lee is a knick fan for life, even if they suck until he's 80. i bet he's given the cold shoulder to Bird before.

remember him at the draft when zach was traded to the knicks? he looked like he just got lebron! lol.
