Considering the intensity/talent back then, 1994 ECSF >/= 2007 ECF.

I think Pipen. Pipen was tough to rate because he was playing with the best in the league and one of the best ever. But he was a great defender, a great passer, a decent shooter and a great supporting cast for a team. He was a key reason why they won their championships.

Dirk is really only a good shooter and not a very good defender. He also doesn't seem like a team leader.
Does anyone actually believe that either Mike Brown or Doc Rivers have done any coaching during the series, or in their undistinguished careers?

Pip.

Better player on both ends of the court. Dirk's a better shooter (not meaning just standard jumpers).

I think Dirk, but it's close.

No, quitting is worse. Much worse. At least Dirk tried. I put that loss (to my Warriors) more on the other guys and the front office than I put it on Dirk - no team can have a one-man show and be successful. He shouldn't have been the MVP of course - that goes to Nash, but basketball idiots can't stand giving it to the guy three times.

You may declare Dirk unclutch, but then you have to do this as to Pippen as well. Either way, it may depend of the situation, but generally I'd rather have natural-born first option - even if somewhat flawed - in Dirk than one of the better second options in history in Scottie (besides, while playing with Nash and Fin Nowitzki proved that he can be helluva effective also as a 2nd/3rd Pippen-like banana).

Tough call but I think I'll take Pippen on this one. I think the gap is much greater defensively then it is offensively between the 2. Scottie's versatility makes it hard for me to overlook him. He led a team that had Horace Grant and BJ Armstrong as go to guys to 55 wins.

For your first option I would take Dirk, if not, give me Pippen.
