Just to prove a point. DAL-CHA

Post#1 » by Teddy KGB » Sat Feb 16, 2008 10:10 am

Please ignore salary and other CBA rules for this trade, this is just to prove a point to a certain Mavs board poster.

Is this deal a good deal for Dallas:

CHA sends:

Emeka Okafor

DAL sends:

Josh Howard
Devin Harris
Brandon Bass
DeSagana Diop

I'd like to clarify the deal I proposed since I'm the guy SS_Maverick is trying to humilate supposedly.

I contend that trading Emeka Okafor for any combination of Mavs players not involving Dirk is a bad deal for Charlotte and a GREAT deal for the Mavs.

So maybe you should change your question SS_Mavericks.

^Well thats downright ridiculous.

Josh Howard and Devin Harris >>>>> Okafor in value.

I really fail to see how its close.

So what you are saying is that Dirk has a better chance of winning a championship with Josh and Devin than with Emeka Okafor...

Dirk has NEVER played with a bigman close to Okafor defensively. And he probably never will in his career, at this rate.

umm who would be the second option in Dallas offensively if this trade went through? Where would Josh's 21 ppg and Devin's 16 ppg come from? you complain about getting burned by wing scorers, so having a SG/SF rotation of George/Stackhouse/Jones would help would it?

I agree that Okafor will be a good fit to Dallas. But this deal is definitely not fair. Compare this trade to the Kidd trade, it implies that Okafor = Kidd + Josh Howard + Bass? No way. In another thread, a bobocat fans suggest to trade Okafor for Marcus Williams + Sean Williams + Net's 1st. So I guess it is enough for Mavericks to get him with Bass + Diop + Ager + Barea + 2008 1st.

^That Bobcats fan's trade was thought up for one reason, to get SEAN WILLIAMS. Don't think Charlotte has any interest in doing that and they mos def would not trade Okafor for Bass, Diop, Ager, Barea, late 1st.

Of course Okafor is not woth Harris/Howard either.

How about Okafor and Felton for Harris, Diop, Bass and Ager? I think that's probably what Mavericks will give up most for Okafor.

Yes, that is what the entire board is saying, and they would be correct.

But then the Bobcats wouldn't go near that so everything would remain status quo.
