and Kidd extends for a reasonable amount.
And in 2 years we get LeBron,
just in time for the move to Brooklyn.

Neither owner Mark Cuban nor general manager Donnie Nelson responded to interview requests Friday. However, Thorn said he envisioned many scenarios that might be feasible to retool the deal and make it happen.
The league is likely to wait until Monday to review any trades to which teams agree, so as not to overshadow All-Star weekend.
Kidd and Dirk Nowitzki said Friday they expect a quick resolution to the deal one way or another. Both players were in an NBA community initiative at a Lower Ninth Ward neighborhood.

You know its time to move on this is a great deal for a 35year old pg. Harris is young a quick. Plus 2 1st round picks. What the hell is wrong with you??????????
It's time to rebuild. We will not win it all with this roster. It's time to move on.
You'll see a deal for Kidd will go thru....maybe not the same one but Harris & Picks we will get before the dead line.

HotShots wrote:If someone is trying to clear money by taken Kidds expiring contract then that means we will be willing to take back a long term contract. I doubt that highly. Thorn isnt Thomas......thats not the way to rebuild.
G_MoNeY wrote:before any of this started, I thought it'd be better to wait until summer. However, after all these rumors, it may be to point of no return. Seriously, look at all these players who were being dealt and knew about it. Now would have to go back to their old teams and act like nothing ever happened. Can you say awkward?
This could be a good thing for us though. Say a deal still does get done before the deadline. Thorn is holding his ground with the pieces Dallas has offered instead, so they may get desperate and add another young, nice piece.

HotShots wrote:So Rich Why is Kidds expiring contract so important?????
So another team can just trade youth picks & expiring cotracts for one expiring contract. Doesn't make sense??????
Didn't we have that problem with VC's expiring contract? No team wanted him they were affraid he'd leave. Whats the difference with Kidd's expiring contract this summer. A one year rental...........the same they said about VC.
The only way a team is interested in a big expiring contract is if you take back a long term contract..........thats what makes it interesting for teams. Not to give up expiring & picks & youth just for a one year rental. The best time is now when a team is looking for a push & has a chance with Kidd for one more year. The guy is 36...........what you want to wait till he is 37?????????

If that happens the team is back to square 0, at expansion team level rebuilding mode, just in time for the move to Brooklyn. Once a team drops down to expansion level bad there is no telling how long it will take to recover.
The only way it makes sense is if the Thorn seriously believes the Nets can pry away LeBron or Wade or another franchise player. But just because a team has the cap space and the money, doesn't mean you get your pick of FAs. The most in-demand FAs are a sellers market who get paid the same whereever they sign, so they pick and choose where THEY will play.

When have I said I didn't want this?
HotShots wrote:Your thinking in the end gets nothing........no picks.......no youth........just 20 mil off.
I hope we get Harris, 2 first rounders & expiring contracts before the trade deadline. I doubt we can do better in the summer.
