Karl Malone had the greatest draft suit of all time! What was with that tie?

Also, did anyone notice the pornstache Stern had going when Charles was at the podium?

Stern was a wild man back then I bet.

Looks like Dwight is the early fan favorite to win it with Moon not far behind.

Dwight is the early favorite for the dunk contest. Hopefully that'll hold through tomorrow night.

Hedo's Boston game winner currently getting a sh*tload of love on SportsCenter. Wonder where it will land him on the top 10 plays of the NBA season. :)

On NBA Radio today, they were saying that they thought Jamario Moon would win the dunk contest. They said no way Dwight wins because he's so tall. They said the tall guys never win. (One of the people saying that was Rick Mahorn.)

So, everyone here better be voting tomorrow to help him as much as we can.

Tall guys can win.....a 6-10 guy won it a while back. Can't remember his name though.

I hope to see Dwight prove the doubters wrong tomorrow, if anything else, as long as Gerald Green doesn't win. The guy just looks like a giant douche bag.

Nance was the tallest guy to win the contest i believe, and he is/was 6'10"...but that was like 24 years ago...it was the very first dunk contest...so i guess that's a while back...

On the other side... how many big guys have been as athletically gifted as Dwight? Not many. If anyone can do it... it sure as hell will be Dwight.

I was watching Moon's preview video...man, his dunks are like choreographed...really smooth.

Dwight's going to have a tough time beating him.

Dwight is bringing out costume changes and he's going to have a cape for one dunk! He's also updating a MJ dunk! Perhaps jumping from farther behind the FT line or even TWO FEETED JUMP FROM THE LINE?! SICK!

I can't wait for tonight. This is gearing up to be the best overall dunk contest in the last 10 years.

Link

In the 1987 dunk contest, Jordan took off from the free-throw line to dazzle fans. Howard's version -- if he ends up using it -- is to either take off farther behind of the line or jump from the line from both feet. Jordan raced down court like a broad jumper and lifted from one leg.

Howard apparently will have to defy gravity much like Michael did to come from behind the backboard and complete a dunk.

He did say, however, he will wear a Superman cape for one dunk. "I don't want to reveal my secrets yet," he said. "I'm going to wear a cape, though. You might see a little Superman cape out there."

unless we start our own thread right now and get some support...
Dwight Howard on his FT struggles:

"I just think everybody needs to stop talking about it," Howard said. "There's more to life than free throws."

they won't make a huge difference, maybe a small one but if Dwight really has the best dunks he'll win. Raptors fans will vote for Jamario, we'll vote for Dwight, obviously. But the other fans will vote for whoever they think is best, plus Dwight is more recognizable so he'll get some support from free-weather fans.

Raptors fan base is overrated here because their realgm base is large, but overall they don't have much more fans than a normal team.

allegedly! You never see him dunk it, you just see his shadow as if he did. Personally I don't think he did, I think it's all hype. Similar to Josh Smith a few years ago when he put a strip on the floor a few feet back and then just ran by it and lept.
