OT: Bibby to Atlanta Possible

Now we should trade Mo and Bobby to Sacto for Artest and Kenny Thomas.

Lot's of Mike Bibby hate here...wow...he's still a great floor general(dictates the tempo of the game) and the Kings lead the league in TO's this year, but once Mike came back the to's started to drop off quite a bit. He's still a good shooter(throw last year's stats out the window they're not indicative of his ability as he played through an injured shooting wrist/thumb - tore some ligaments). He's still kinda rusty, but he's coming around. He's NOT 'terrible', he's just not as effective as he once was. He's still a top 10 PG in the game today though, no question.

He was much more clutch in the playoffs than Webber ever was. He was a driving force on some damn good Kings teams and he stepped his play up considerably in the playoffs. I don't think enough people here are placing enough value on proven playoff experience and how valuable that is for an Atlanta team that for the most part has none (Johnson has been there but he was a distant fourth on the pecking order in Phoenix). The Hawks in my opinion badly need more experience and Bibby can provide it at a critical position. He isn't the player he once was but what he lacks in past ability he makes up for in proven playoff mentality.

And given the rumored trade, they're losing nothing of significance to acquire him. So it's a no-lose situation. His contract expires after next season so it's hardly a burden and regardless of his current level of play he's still a rather big upgrade over what they currently have.

Very smart move by Atlanta in my opinion if it happens.

Except that Denver lacks the pieces, and isn't a solid trading partner for the Kings.

Najera/R1 pick isn't getting it done (as reported), Nene's questionable at most as an asset (and has a huge contract for a closer to rebuilding Kings team) with the baggage he has (not behavior, but health related things), Nuggs aren't willing to give up Kleiza.

I don't think Felton belongs on that list. Terry is more of a SG these days with Harris (or Kidd) at PG. Jose Calderon should definitely be on that list. The rest I'm in agreement about. Bibby is in the next wave of PGs. I'd put him ahead of guys like Mo and Felton because I place a high premium on his playoff experience.

lol at Mike Bibby is "terrible" - what ignorant, exaggerated, dumb, wrong statements. Mike's dropped off a bit, but he's still an above-average PG that is one of the more clutch players in the NBA.

Disagree but thats your opinion. I would also say that Hinrich is better. Mo Williams, IMO is = Bibby but Bibby has more experience. It is arguable at best that Bibby is a top 10 PG. And I have no problem with Bibby and am not one of the people saying that he is terrible but to be so confident that he is a top 10 PG I think is a little extreme.

I forgot about Hinrich. His career to date places him as a Top 10 PG but his performance this season places him well below that range.

Terrific trade for the Hawks. Absolute no-lose scenario here. Even if Bibby doesn't work out, his contract isn't an issue and they gave up nothing of significance to get him.

It sure is fun watching other teams make good trades.

What's really sad about this is not only do the Hawks have a much brighter future than the Bucks but they seem to have smarter management in place too right now.
