Bibby dealt to Atl (pick?)

Post#1 » by Stix » Sat Feb 16, 2008 7:57 pm

It seems as though Mike Bibby has been traded to Atlanta for Lue/Williams/Wright/Johnson. This is very bad news for a pick next year as this would probably put Atlanta in the playoffs this year, meaning our pick will be high. Which doesn't help us much as all next year.

I think the Suns definatly need to make a move with the ATL pick and get us another shooter or back-up PG.

Bibby alone isn't going to do anything for the HAWKS.

Huh? How so? It gives them the shooter they need and the veteran PG they need. It will help them a lot.

I think it helps them, but really, is it that big of a trade? Not really. I think they need him, but I think it will not affect them till next year. Most likely they may get that last spot in the east now. sucks.

Well look at the Kings... are they any better than the hawks? Hawks need more then a 13/5 avg. PG.

Bibby is famous for clutch shots, not PG IQ.

Bibbly will make them a 40+ win team, which makes our pick a non-lottery pick.

Yawn.... I see no evidence of how that is possible.

Well lets see, Mike Bibby an above average vet PG who can distribute the ball and shoot the 3, with Al Horford, Joe Johnson, and Josh Smith... i think thats evidence enough.

And not to mention, Atlanta is TIED right now for the last playoff spot in the East, with the Nets and Sixers. Nets get worse if the Kidd trade goes through and an Atlanta team with Bibby is definatly better than the Philadelphia 76ers.

I'll come back to this thread after, oh, say 10 games with Bibby a Hawk.

I wouldn't say Bibby has a bad bb IQ, his shot selection may be erratic at times, but he's a shooter though. He'll help the Atlanta get into the playoffs which will make your guys pick 16th at best.

This sucks. I can't wait until we finally get the pick or trade it. I'm just sick of caring about the Hawks

Time to move the pick...Hawks got 33 games left - you guys think that Bibby/JJ/Smith/Marvin/Horford can't get them to 20-13? That would leave them 41-41, good for a playoff spot in the Least

When I saw in the Original post at first I thought it was for Joe Johnson. And I was like what why would atlanta trade him for then saw it was Anthony Johnson and was ticked. I do think Bibby is a little overrated the most assists he's ever averaged in a season is 8.4 and that was back in 2000 with the Vancouver Grizzlies. Since being in Sacramento He's only a 5 apg guy not great.

20-13???
I bet u whatever u want that the Hawks won't finish off 20-13 or over.

Good trade for the Hawks, maybe will be good enuf 2 send em in the playoffs in the east, but Bibby isn't gonna make em anything great this year, they're still 2 young a team to be at that level.

Sactown has Kevin Martin, Artest, Brad Miller, Salmons, Garcia, Udrih and they still weren't good enuf 2 reach 50% with Bibby.
Bibby's a legit starter, wud make a perfect backup PG with us, but he isn't enuf of a playmaker 2 lead the Hawks into being a top-tier team in the east right away.

I won't be surprised at all if Hawks suck just as hard as they do now over the rest season actually

I think Atlanta has the easiest schedule of the three. What gives Philadelphia an advantage is that it plays both ATL and NJ twice. I expect that NJ will be the one that misses the playoffs.

Eh this still doesn't gurantee anything

Bibby has been on the decline the last few seasons and has defintely become a shoot first PG who shoots a terribe %

They should of gone after a real PG

Alright let's chill out a bit. The Hawks have a 5 game West road trip coming out of the break against tough competition. They're 7 games below .500 right now and even if they went say 2-3 worst case scenario during this next trip they'd be 8 games below .500 with 27 left to play. That means They'd have to go 17-10 the rest of the way just to reach .500. Don't think that's going to happen. Check out their remaining schedule on NBA.com, lots of tough games and road games coming up for them not to mention having to mesh with Bibby.

I'm saying worst case after their coming road trip they finish the season 15-12 the rest of the way and have a record 5 games below .500, 6th place in the East and we get the #16/17 pick. That would get us a good young player. We need good young picks moving forward esp. with our cap situation the next 2 years after this.

I mean who are we going to trade out there for the Atl pick without giving up something on our end??? Sarver is not taking on any more salary this year. A guy like Mikael Pietrus is too expensive after the luxury tax kicks in. It's all good!!!!!
