Some of you are total kneejerks, the Hawks are not better than us and Bibby is not the same guy who was helping lead the Kings deep into the playoffs.

But yes they did get him for nothing...Otis won't do anything I predict.

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I just love how every single trade that happens you have the exact same posters saying "OMG OTIS WE SHOULD HAVE TRADEDAEDASDAS!!"EWQ"

If it were up to them, our roster would change 15 man deep about 3 or 4 times a year; including some scrub FA's that constantly get waived from their teams.

Yes we get it, you want to trade for the sake of trading.

The Wizards and Heat are worse because of injuries. The Baby-cats are not at all improved. And the Hawks are a touch better. On odds, the South East is better in the mid-pack over last year, and are similar at the top with Orlando taking the rope from Miami. But the Heat now join the Baby-cats i the toilet level of this division.

The South East is worse this year over last.

IMO we have better individual players but they have a better starting 5. Also they are very young and only gonna get better, unless we can get some talented players NOW they are going to be better (if they arent already).

Dwight>Horford
Rashard<Smith (Lewis is a better player IMO but Smith plays PF better)
Hedo>Williams (In a year or two Williams will be better, shaping into great scorer
Evans<JJ
Nelson<Bibby

2-3 Them :-?

on paper...

besides, it's more like this:

Dwight>>>>Horford
Rashard=<Smith
Hedo>>Williams
Evans<<JJ
Nelson=<Bibby

more importantly:

Does this mean that Atlanta is less likely to resign Childress this summer?

so you think nelson is better than bibby? i dont think thats why i think orlando should have gotten him.

the bottom line is, orlando needs to improve their team, everyone else is.

Bibby being better than Nelson is only one consideration for a team making a trade. Chemistry, contract, and pieces given up all come in to play.

I agree with you that the Magic need to make a move, but I think it should be for a SG or back up PF.

Bibby isn't going to solve any backcourt's defensive woes and he's not going to help with rebounding and post defense, and he's not necessarily even healthy, so in my opinion, Otis made the right move.

Isn't this what many were saying about the Magic during the off-season?

Look at us now, 12 games over .500 and 3rd in the east with a very good chance of winning the SE.

Bibby is not a true PG, I doubt his effectiveness.

He's still a huge upgrade over Lue, Anthony Johnson, Claxton, and Law.

i think that the Hawks will come out laughing from this deal. Bibby is far from done, he just needs the right team around him again and he'll be a that weapon in the playoffs that everyone is envious of.

Everyone is trying to catch up to us.

A move, if it's there and fits and doesn't give up to much, is fine. But simply because everyone is making a move is silly.

Otis made a move earlier in the season to help sure up the SG and add to the bench. That worked out pretty good .. no?

Other East teams are only making moves now.

Yes. Everyone else is making moves, so should we right? Who cares if it's a good move or not, we should just make a move because everyone else is. Right?

no, but it'd be nice to know that if Pau Gasol is going for expirings and crappy draft picks that we'd have been in the mix.

it'd be nice to land a Devin Harris/Jason Kidd/Mike Bibby/Ron Artest if all it's costing is expirings. but not if we have to gut our team and ruin our playoff run this year for it.

i'd just like to hope that with all the commotion a few other teams begin to panic and hope to offload players for cap space + draft picks + young talent and that we can get in the mix and steal some talent.

No, we shouldnt, just to make a move, but we should IMPROVE the roster, everybody here, you included know this roster, have more holes than a piece of swiss cheese, just my opinion....
