What's going on with Bargnani lately?

Post#1 » by Sid the Squid » Sun Feb 17, 2008 3:52 am

I watched him struggle through the 1st couple months of the season, but I havent caught any raptor games this month...Now I look at the +/- stats for the last 10 games...and guess who leads the entire NBA? Is he playing that good? Or is this just a +/- abberation?...Raptors are killing it with Bargs on the floor.

He got 0 rebounds in the all-star game. The only player to do that.

And before you excuse him, EVERY PLAYER in the game grabbed a rebound except him.

But in other news, Bargnani's play has picked up as of late. He's anchoring our defence and he's also heating up from beyond the arc.

Bargnani is almost at 20-5!

You should really take that +/- stat with a huge grain of salt. having said that, Bargs has been playing much better of late. His footwork on defense is getting better. He has a LONG way to go but there has been improvement and that is encouraging!

I missed the All-Star game?

I hope you were joking, but anyways: look at how many times he tapped the ball to somebody else and then judge him for his rebounding.

LF,

u gotta understand the numbers man.

Bargnani's got less impact on a game than say Kobe.

So, when Kobe's in a slump, his - is way higher than Bargnani.

That alone makes the difference in why Kobe wasn't ranked higher.

If you just looked at +, Kobe's way over Bargnani despite Bargnani getting some career numbers of late.

Everyone was making fun of him especially on radio stations. Embarassing.

EVERY PLAYER, including guards.

And Garnett and Kaman.

He didn't lock them down, but he held them in check. I don't think we have been generally lit up by a big (might have happened on once or twice) this season. Freakin' wing players just bust our asses though.

Barney for MIP and DPOY

Bargs is turning into a very nice defender.

You could tell that wasn't his type of game. He was actually trying to create for other people.
I do what I feel, not because people ask me to do this,” Bargnani says, holding his hands over his head and doing a strange chicken dance.

A foreigner in a NBA All-Star festivity is like a Jedi in a Sith conference. It just does not work.

Like I said: Watch the game over and look how many times he tapped the ball out to an open team mate instead of pulling it down. He was creating play for the team, if he would've pulled them down instead he would've had 5-7 boards easy.

Also, there was an instance we Andrea did in fact grab a rebound, and wasn't credited.

Its called hanging out at the 3pt line and avoiding contract, usually like the smallest player on the court would do.
