was chris perez worth it?

Post#1 » by seattle » Fri May 23, 2008 11:36 am

so currently i am sitting 4th in a huge 20 team ROTO league (20 teams, 30 positons + 3 DLs) sort of got lucky in the draft. got hot guys like berkman and chipper and having them in a 20 teamer really rocks. still in the upper part despite having furcal, doumit on the DL. my SP started off out cold but slowly it is taking form. the problem with my draft, i only draft 1 closer. and having 1 bad cat in roto in a league this huge almost guarantees you of not winning the league.

my team:
C- Ramon Hernandez
1B- Lance Berkman
2B- Aaron Hill
3B- Chipper Jones
SS- Rafael Furcal DL
CI- Chirs Shelton
MI- Khalil Greene
OF- Grady Sizemore
OF- Raul Ibanez
OF- Gary Matthews Jr
OF- Brad Wilkerson
Util- Jay Payton
BN- Sean Casey
BN- Greg Dobbs
BN- Ryan Doumit DL
BN- Reggie Willits
DL- Eric Chavez

SP- Daisuke Matsuzaka
SP- Chien-Ming Wang
SP- Chad Billingsley
SP- Andrew Miller
SP- Justin Duschererer
RP- Francisco Cordero
RP- Frank Francisco
P- Aquilino Lopez
P- Chris Perez
BN- Renyel Pinto
BN- Jason Marquis
BN- Ricky Nolasco
BN- Tyler Clippard
BN- Greg Reynolds
DL- Orlando Hernandez
DL- Lee Gardner

so i was wondering, using my number 2 waiver priority to drop herges for perez. was it good? worth it? a waste? i know i could have easily waited for someone like kershaw or price and used them as a trade bait for a closer. but i saw perez and got him thinking that he is the final piece of my team's need. i am confused right now. lol. any comments, suggestions, feedback is gladly appreciated. thanks.
