I never said that the Warriors aren't winning or not smart for playing the way they do. They are. I just hate watching them play. Just like I hate watching the current Marquette team play. The Suns are different because Nash make terrific decisions with the ball in transition, and if it's not there, they play excellent half court.

Nellie isn't a stupid man, i'm sure he'd love to have Tim Duncan, Garnett, Gasol, or some other really high quality big man. Those high quality bigs though aren't exactly just floating around for any team that wants one.

Nelson has a roster with many great athletes, but no special big man so he maximizes the strengths of the roster he has. That's the number one job of a head coach and Nelson has always done a great job of it and teams he's gone to almost always get better.

I guess he could have instead banged his head against the wall and tried running a more "traditional offense" that doesn't fit his roster best. Then the Warriors could do what they did for years before he arrived, lose lots of games.

The reason Nelson is so loved in Golden St is their fans were like Bucks fans, watching year after year of losing or very mediocre bland basketball. In Nellie comes and he knows he has no special big man and instead an athletic roster of smaller players. He put in a system that did something their fans haven't seen in awhile, winning games and even upsetting the No.1 seed in a very exciting playoff run. Their fans know they likely won't win a ring, but they at least have a team worth coming out to see.

We run our more traditional basketball system and are a miserable team that plays in a coma like empty arena. Yay, i'm sure fans here are so glad we instead aren't those run and gun Warriors.

Yep. Great post.

Don Nelson is a Basketball God.

I'm surprised more here aren't rooting for him just on principle.

Go Warriors!

I would say the lakers. Now that Kobe is hurt is may drop them to a 5 or 6 seed if he doesnt get back in time. Otherwise I would go with the Hornets!

Ugh I hope its not the Warriors. I don't mind their players, but their fans are unbearable. Posting on their board would be a disaster.

That's how I feel, every other post on the Warriors board is about Yi, bugs me for some reason.
