The Suns continue to pursue several avenues in an attempt to fill their 13th roster spot. And in addition to bringing in four free agents

Get him.

He's started enough games to know his role, and who knows Weber might be able to work the kinks out in his shot...Decent size and on the cheap...can't see DEN doing it, why would they?

Maybe the Suns trade the exception and 2nd round pick for him,

Then Denver trades for Artest with exception or some kind of 3 way trade with Sacramento.

Don't we have a project exactly like that - defensive, work-in-progress SF/SG in Tucker?

diawarra is fine by me, as is gelabele,

we are obviously chasing insurance should bell hill or diaw go down because we are thin at the SG SF spot (not as thin as we are at PG though)

no doubt denver and sacto are trying to use us as a middle man for a 3 team deal for artest

man if they got artest without giving up camby melo or ai (which they wouldnt give up anyway) then they will have many questions but also elevate themselves up to the elite group in the L also

west gets tougher and tougher

^Where'd you hear that?

THAT would be a good move, I've always thought he was effective against us, surprised he never stuck in the league. high energy, decent size and good defender

Diawara has a decent 3-point stroke as well - kind of a 6-7 version of a "poor man's Raja Bell". He's better than what I thought we would add. And, to be honest, a conditional 2nd (ie, sometime past 2010) and the TE should be enough to land him. Moving him saves the Nuggets $1.3 million (with taxes figured in).

I would love to bet Diawara. He's very athletic, is a decent 3 point shooter and he is a very perimiter defender. HoopsHype.com has him at 6'7 220 lbs and they label him as a" high energy player with a lots of strenghts and athleticism... Not very gifted on the offensive side.."

Especially if we just trade him for a 2nd round pick and our trade exception. We would still own the Atlanta's pick and we still can draft a player like Serge Ibaka who is a freak of nature. Serge Ibaka is 6'10 but whats uniqie about him is that he has been compared to Shawn Kemp leaping ability and supposedly has a 7'8 wing span. Imaging pair him up with Amare..

^^ I like Serge a LOT. He is every bit a Shawn Marion with an added bonus of having better shot blocking skills. This is yet another reason WHY you don't want to spend the ATL pick this year.

I say try and nudge Diawara from the nuggets. But don't offer anything other than a TE.

It looks like Sacremento will wavie Dahntay Jones out of Duke he has alot of skills that fit what the Suns are looking for maybe they will give him a look.

Or 3 way trade Suns get Tyronne Lue and Dahntay, Denver gets Suns trade exception and Ron Artest, Sacramento gets fill in the blanks.

Another Rumor in Sac Bee is Suns have interest in Lue

I don't like Jones as he can't shoot a lick. He doesn't really offer much over DJ outside of offensive rebounding and some size. I'd rather get someone who can hit 3s and defend.

Dahntay does not get enough playing time to shoot a lot of 3's.

Grant Hill was not a 3 point shooter previously and he looks pretty goot this year with them

Yeah, Dahntay Jones can't shoot that well. Other than the occasional open mid-range shot, from game to game. Which is ordinary at best. Maybe that'd change with you guys, but is uncertain. He's a solid defensive player and very athletic, though. Good energy player, and tough.

Just that Tucker has significantly more skill and up-side as a scorer.
