what is wrong with the NO fans they don't go to any hornets game who are the 4th best team in the West...then they leave early for the all star weekend event....they are the worse basketball fans....its a shame that a city like Seattle loses there team but NO keeps theirs...and they were like that before the hurricane.

They weren't completely like that before the hurricane, but it's a problem the NBA is going to have to address eventually. Keep in mind that New Orleans' population is currently around that of Rockford's, give or take the undocumented workers in NO. So, imagine a city of 150,000 supporting a professional football team, which became the symbol of the city's rebirth and recovery, and a professional basketball team which greatly considered never coming back and plays 41 home games. That's a lot to ask of a city with so few people.

Those are all pre-Katrina numbers, Attendance seemed to be declining a bit before hand anyways. Theyre at around 12,600 or so, so far, this year. I dont think the number of people living there is really the problem.

I found a nice condensed version of the dunk contest on youtube:

That Superman dunk of Dwight's was too a dunk. Google the definition of dunk. Dwight brought creativity and showmanship, along with his insane athleticism. What's there to be mad about?

Don't you think that you're taking this just a wee bit too seriously?
Side note: Here's a tip for Gerald Green. If you want the crowd to get behind you, don't choose a sneering Rashad McCants as your assistant.

Exactly. Listen to the 4:45 mark on that clip. Magic says:
He didn't just dunk it, he threw it through! He was up so high he threw it through!
Another thing everyone is missing is that he took off with 2 FEET. Every dunker, long jumper, high jumper, etc. takes off from one foot. Go in your backyard and see how far you can jump with a running start from one foot and then 2 feet.

I don't understand why you're so angry about this. If you googled what a dunk is, you'd see that what Dwight did was in fact a dunk. Not only do I think so, and the definitions think so, but the judges including Dominique and Dr J thought so as well. You might be one of the only people with their own unique definition of a dunk.dedned wrote:are you serious? i dont need google to tell me what a dunk is. it may have been a nice jump, but it wasnt a dunk.
So what did you think it was? A jump shot? A layup?

Show me the dunks from past contest were jordan and dominique just jumped in the air and threw the ball at the hoop.
A slam dunk (or simply a dunk) is a type of basketball shot that is performed when a player jumps in the air and manually powers the ball downward through the basket with one or both of his hands. This is a standard field goal worth two points. There is one component required for this particular "field goal" to be classified as a "dunk": 1) the ball must be thrown into the basketball net in a downward motion where both the ball and player's hand(s) are both above the basketball rim.

It was a dunk. End of story.

Even if it wasnt a dunk per se, it was still more impressive given how high he got in the air, and the fact that he took off from two feet. So even if he didnt technically touch the rim, who cares? It was still incredibly amazing.
Also, the judges did know he didnt actually touch the rim given that Magic said that "he literally threw it down".

Yeah bogut can own people 3 weeks out of a whole NBA season. Yay for him. Ill take the other guy that actually tries the rest of the season. Smartest? Maybe but if he was smart he'd know that his team would have a better chance of winning if he didnt have PMS so often.
You were either really **** faced when you typed this or just being semi-retarded.
