The guy we should be making this argument for is Mo Williams compared to Chauncey Billups.
OK, Chauncey probably always played D but he was regarded as a bust(yeah, Mo was a 2nd round pick) and not a very good PG until his late 20s, when he blossomed into the championship PG he is. I'm not saying that Mo will do this but if there is any crazy comparison that has a snowflakes chance in hell of being remotely possible, I think the Mo/Billups one sounds a bit more correct.

Amazing! I think only one person (jeremyd236) really read and understood my post. My post did not once attempt to compare Jordan's talents with Redd's talents. When I was writing my post I knew that there would be people out of hatred for Micheal Redd would read what they wanted it to say in their hearts. Poor Michael Redd. Him wanting max contract doesn't make him responsible for bringing a championship to the Bucks. Every player in the league wants max contract if they can get it but only one team each year brings home the trophy making everyone else responsible for their teams failure.
This includes the Norwitzki's, Nash's, Bryant's, Garnett's, Barkleys, etc. My post clearly show's that even the best player ever was ineffective in bringing home the trophy until he got legitimate talent to support him. Cartwright, Pippen, Paxson, Kukoc, Rodman, Grant. Put those guys with Redd and you'll see the trophy in Milwaukee. Don't blame Redd. Blame management for the inability to bring in complementary talent and coaching for the inability to mold that talent together.

The Bulls don't win one championship with Redd for Jordan.....Guys like Redd are a dime a dozen and can be found easily.

Look, speaking from a pure homer perspective, [Cavs Homer] the best thing that could have happened for everyone is Michael Redd signing with the Cavs in 05...
The Cavs would better off probably and the Bucks wouldn't have all this money tied into a guy that is not going to help them go anywhere...Maybe you are where you are now, but maybe not... Knowing what you know now and how it's played out, why wouldn't you go in another direction ??
Mike would be playing for a winning team and would probably be happy.. He would be on national TV all the time, and would probably get the proper recognition for his talents..
It's too late now, but for all parties involved it probably would have been the best for everyone, just on different levels... [/Cavs Homer]
Nope. The best things for Bucks would be if they re-signed Redd and then traded him when he was at his best (game against Utah last year). That is selling high and that would be best for Bucks. At that moment his value was all time high and we would be able to get good player(s) in return.
After Redd scored all that points against Utah last year I said "Trade him now". I was atacked like no other poster ever. Oh well

Well, Cleveland should have acted like they REALLY wanted him.
Heard that 'Bron didn't even meet up with him when he flew in.
OK.
LeBron did leave Redd a video though!
Seriously

LeBron made a video of himself trying to convince Redd to sign with the Cavs.

I think it's fair to blame Redd because that comes with the territory of being the team's best player and its highest-paid player. As L&H said, when you sign that contract you assume certain responsibilities and some of those is to be your team's leader through good times and bad.
However, here's a very interesting factoid that should not be discounted:
Redd has only had one All-Star or former All-Star as a teammate since he became a starter. Just one. That name of that player?
Jamaal Magloire.
Think about that for a second. Think about what that means. It's also worth noting that the Bucks just happened to make the playoffs when Magloire was Redd's teammate and that should make people wonder what the Bucks could do if Redd had All-Stars or former All-Stars as teammates who were of a higher quality than Jamaal Magloire.
So there's no question - or there should be no question in my opinion - that Redd has not enjoyed the benefits of proven All-Star caliber talent during his time as a starter. He's generally been surrounded by young players with potential such as Ford, Bogut, Simmons, Yi, Villanueva and Mo. Maybe if the Bucks had done a better job of bringing in more proven All-Star caliber talent to join Redd, the team's fortunes wouldn't be so dismal at the present time.
That said, we may be reaching the point where it's simply best for the Bucks to part ways with Redd. It isn't his fault the team stinks but it's becoming clear the situation isn't working and trading Redd may be in everyone's best interests. Given the Bucks' recent history, it probably won't solve the problem but at least it would give the team's fans something (and someone) new to bitch about should the losing continue.

You may want to rethink that. The year after MJ left the first time the Bulls won 55 games and I believe they had the 2nd seed in the East. They were robbed at a chance at the finals due to one of the worst calls in the history of the NBA. I don't think it's a stretch at all to say that adding Redd to a 55 win team that started 3 all-stars would give them a very good shot at a title. Heck, if not for that call they could have been in the finals without either MJ or Redd. The next year I recall Kukoc won 6th man of the year. My guess is you could have replaced MJ with a dozen players back then and the Bulls still win all those titles. I guess that isn't saying much when a team already starts 3 all-stars and has the best 6th man off the bench.

Michael Redd is an elite player in this league. Most players outside Milwaukee understand that. Good basketball minds understand that. Management has just surrounded him with a bunch of girly boys to play with. MJ was arguably the best basketball talent ever and yet he needed solid players with him to just barely squeak by and win championships. How can you expect any more from Redd when he is less talented than MJ?
