The kid had the place buzzing like no one since Vince in 2000. The SM dunk was about showmanship and that's what the dunk contest is about.

Is one of the good graphics people about to make this into a wallpaper size image? If it's stretched to fit as is now, the resolution isn't that sharp.

I don't know if anyone has brought this up but I was a little disappointed in Dwayne Wade last night in the skills challenge. I know this is just fun stuff for them but what I don't like is that after he dribbled the ball off his foot, he just pretty much gave up. What I saw from him is indicative of the Miami Heat season. They are just going through the motions and his effort last night was not a good display for kids.

Over/Under for alley oops to Dwight tonight?
I'm going to place it at a low 5.

Dwight would've had MVP last year had the East not lost, so he's got a good shot.

Frankly, I am not a fan of the dunk. I get much more excited by Dwight making his free throws than dunking. And it can't compare to a three-pointer. So some guys want to show off while dunking -- yawn. But I watched the dunk contest, and this year it had me on the edge of my chair. Yes, the sticker dunk last year should have won a 10 for difficulty, but it wasn't that fun to watch. These were fun, difficult, and beautiful to watch.

I hope Dwight retires from the contest. He's set the new standard, so let some other guys try to meet it. Trying to top that performance risks injury.

To respond to my own quote, I wonder if Howard should be an assistant for Jameer to dunk?

(Chuckle) Jameer couldn't dunk Dwight. He can barely dunk a basketball.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

Dwight needs to enter the skills challenge and 3 point contest next year.

19 years and we finally get out first all star award thanks to Dwight. We need an all star MVP award, lets hope this is Dwight's weekend.

Dwight should have dunked a nerf ball at 12' and then caught the alley oop on the way down on the standard goal. That would have killed!

I think Dwight left a lot of his dunks on the table that he could bring next season if he chose.

He should ask the NBA to move the rim to 12-feet or they can go f*ck themselves, no dunk champion for you.

If Dwight doesnt compete in the contest again i have no problem with it. He already competed in it twice. Dwight has earned the right to sit it out if he wants.

I think he could do it again next year. He probably already has two more dunks that could get 50s, the 12ft nerf dunk and the kiss the rim. But I think he would need to add something to the kiss the rim dunk because it will be hard for the judges to completely understand at first like the sticker dunk. I was thinking he could have like a mouthguard with a hook, or something like that, and he goes up and puts it on the rim while dunking.

IMO, I think the last dunk was not going to be just a wind-mill. I think he was gonna kiss the rim with that one just that he had it won by a large margin and missed the 1st dunk he decided to take the safe route.

Dwight definitely could've upped the difficulty level on the last dunk, but didn't need to.

Dude, Dwight should play basketball for the USA team. Can you imagine, he would be disgusting. It would be great for USA Volleyball also.

i think Dwight will be back. some cocky upstart will come through next year with something to prove and will call him out. Dwight'll put him in his place.

i still can't get over how awesome those dunks were. Dwight is gonna be the heart of this league for years to come. He's got the game, the spirit and the personality that'll make everyone want to be a fan again.
