I didn't catch many of their games when they played there and don't recall these types of comments. If there are in fact some areas where the arena falls short, it might be that the NBA has specific guidelines for locker rooms, broadcast facilities, scoreboards, etc... These are things that can probably be addressed and more willingly paid for if a permanent NBA tenant is the outcome.

I voted for other, being the Sonics staying in Seattle. I do not believe the Devil when he says there are no miracles to be had here. Seattle should not lose their team.

I saw a Sonics game two years back. It was the last game of the season...the team was out of the playoffs. Their crowd was going crazy. It was like last year's playoffs in there. There was a buzz. I really hope Seattle keeps the Sonics. There are so many true fans there.

i remember in an interview with David Stern when the NBA was expanding to China, a reporter asked him why expand to other countries like China when Vancouver Grizzlies, a Canadian team, that failed miserably to keep the team. Stern's reply was that there was really bad marketing in Vancouver.

But im guessing that the NBA would probably expand to Oklahoma or either Vegas.

Never really understood why Anaheim has an NHL team when LA has one, they're like only an hour away from each other. I remember driving 4 hours and 2 hours just to watch Raptors and Pistons games respectively.

If they are moved ... I hope they go broke in Oaklahoma

look at there avg income

look at are attendance with being the worst team in the NBA

NewOrleans Is in First place .... much lower attendance 3 rd best in the NBA lest than 12,500 per game... terrible

strong arm tactics only work ... when you have a position of power
like when they are winning ... not losing every year

I'm not too sure, I would love to see a another Canadian team besides Toronto. Hopefully one that's good enough to spark a rivalry.

Uh - so the population of New Orleans is responsible for attendance in OKC??

The team is playing in New Orleans this year, and the bad attendance is largely due to the fact that the economics of the region are still not very good after Katrina, and many, many people have not moved back. When they played the 2 previous seasons in Oklahoma, attendance was very good (with very many sellouts) despite the team not being nearly as good. The first season they outright sucked.

It can work in OKC, much like it does in places like Portland, San Antonio, Sacramento and Utah.

People can afford to go to games in NO, at least the people that have the money to do so, but they just don't. Tickets aren't really that expensive for a Hornets game anyway. But if the All-star game was any proof, the Hornets should be the ones moving to OKC and not the Sonics.

The Seattle SuperSonics, who have encountered difficulties in trying to get a new arena built, are contemplating a move. Two cities that would welcome an NBA team are Oklahoma City and Anaheim, which has hosted exhibition and regular-season NBA games at the Honda Center.

"Our enthusiasm for the NBA in Orange County, and especially at the Honda Center, is as intense as it was when this building opened in 1993," said Tim Ryan, Anaheim Ducks executive vice president and chief operating officer. "We believed then, and we still believe, that this is a fabulous market for the NBA. Over the past three years, we've put millions of dollars worth of improvements in the arena, so that if the opportunity comes that a team does move here, they'll be walking into a pristine building.

Looks like Anaheim is ready to make a offer for the Sonics to move to Orange County.
