OT-F this weather
I don't know about you guys, but I'm about done with this weather this year. I can't remember a winter where we've had such huge storms in one season.
This morning I decide to go out to breakfast. No big deal, I walk out to the garage and open the garage door. I Find nearly 2-3 inches of standing water in my garage. My god. Luckily anything of value is in the rear of the garage where the water isn't at and that it's a detatched garage so the water isn't up against the house. Either way there is nowhere for me to go with the water since the ground is frozen. Pumping it out just brings the water right back in.

I agree. I woke up this morning to a leak streaming down my frontroom window. So I got to go outside and shovel snow of my roof in the rain. I only slipped a little. I risked it! I should have tied a extention cord around my waste to the house so I wouldnt fall. It would have only been a 10 foot fall into the snow. Would have hurt Im guessing. Im still alive.
It does suck however!

Yep. I was waking up expecting snow and got a driveway full of ice. Also I have frozen gutters so all the snow on the roof that's trying to melt isn't getting into the gutters which means it's getting into the house. I just got back from melting all the ice to let the snow melt.

Too ballsy for me man. I almost busted my **** just walking to my car. Cool thing though, my windows still worked and when I put them down there was still a solid 1/2 inch of ice I had to punch my way through just to see out.

Stood out in the **** freezing rain for about 30 minutes before some chick passerby informed me. God damn it.
Atleast she told you. I herd about that. I have a buddy that goes to school out there and said the same thing.

I just wished the crap would turn to snow. At least with that you can blow it out of your way. You can't do anything with this rain, slush, ice mix except watch the **** creep into your garage and/or house. Luckily for me it's just the garage, I can imagine a lot of other people will have some problems with their house.

I was going to start a thread about this. I parked my car on a city street Friday night and got bottomed out. I left it there and decided to go out to get it this morning after the rain had melted the snow. WRONG! Everything out there is ice and I had to get a buddy to help push after I grabbed some scrap wood from a construction site to put under the tires. Took an hour, but it's out. Moved it to a street where all of the water is at least moving downhill as opposed to the flat street that I was on before.
On my walk back I passed another car that took four people to push out, and then I helped push another girl out across from my place.
Once all of this water freezes and turns to ice it's going to be pure madness.

I was up north Ice Fishing with my friend all weekend, BTW Saturday's weather in Shawano was awesome. So we're driving home and it's snowing like hell up there, with no sign of it stopping. No rain or anything, just the grounds were a little wet. Then I get home at about 2 or so and there's no snow or anything so I think the rest of the day will be fine. Well, I was wrong. Just 15 minutes after my mom and I went out too scrape the ice off the driveway, sidewalk and porch it starts the rain snow mix again. Now it's snowing like mad and the driveway looks frozen. STOP!!

Yeah. I have been here for over ten years now. Never have I had to shovel the mail box out. I bought a new snowblower back then and I have used it more times this year than all the other years combined.DrugBust wrote:Sounds like you cats in the south got wet. In Marshfield and to the north we didn't get any rain, just an assload of snow. Right now we're under about two and a half feet and there's no sign of it stopping. If I look outside there are blizzard conditions and it's blowing hard.

Last night was the worst drunk walk of my life. Madison was an icerink last night and that's not an exaggeration. It's as if the entire place was zambonied. Walking home, I literally fell 15 times. This wasn't one of those little slips. It was the type of fall where you try to regain your balance and your legs end up flying up and kicking out for you to land flat on your back. The back of my head hurts. It was awful.
