Curry an option for Miami?

Post#1 » by MartyConlonJr » Mon Feb 18, 2008 7:19 am

Egads

Riley needs a big post-up presence. He doesn't really see the game otherwise, and the truth is, rarely has a team succeeded without one. The Suns' trade for O'Neal shows they believe it too.

So what about Eddy Curry?

While he fits Riley's ability to snap up someone in the buy low, sell high strategy, and while he has a history of post players, has he ever gotten a guy that can't rebound, pass or defend?

I'm not sold on anything except that when Wade drives the lane this is a guy that could keep defenses at bay the way Shaq did early on.

No, no I can't convince myself this would be a good idea on any level.

We on the Bulls board have come to the conclusion that Sam Smith reads RealGM, and uses the ideas for his columns.

One of our insiders came with a deal he had heard was being discussed, in a later article, Sam posts the same trade saying it came from his source.

The NYK/MIA trade he talks about in this article was suggested on the Knicks board a few days ago

If theres any merit to this, I bet a deal would look like this

MIA Gets
C Eddy Curry
PG Mardy Collins
C Randolph Morris

NY Gets
C Mark Blount
PG Smush Parker
Draft pick(08 2nd round)

Now I doubt Isiah would get a 2nd round out of this but meh maybe I can be proven wrong. Isiah probably wouldent give up on the Curry project though.

Curry doesn't defend, rebound or pass well. In fact, he's quite bad in all of those categories.

WTF would Riley want from Curry?

Oh yeah, and he's got POs for 09/10 and 10/11 when he's a $10M+ player.

Yeah, Riles would REALLY want him...

Dumb rumor; even dumber move, if Riles pulls the trigger.

Bloody sam smith, never listened that chump. All he does is make stuff up. Its all his own spectulation, there is no quotes other then the knicks saying we need to do something. Blah, I doubt riley would be domb enough to do such a thing.

This is a horrible idea, unless it removes Mark Blount from the team. Then it's merely a really bad idea.

Still eats into cap an extra year. How much would it suck to trade for Curry to build a competitive team so Wade doesn't leave, then Curry sucks so bad Wade leaves because the Knicks have cleared enough salary after the Curry trade......

I'm assuming you all dislike Bargs, Curry is worse then Bargnani.

You will regret the day he put on a Heat uniform.

Person who wrote this article must be a Knicks fan. Not happening, no chance in hell.

Blount is better than Curry at this point. They defend and rebound equally however, Blount can run up and down and get out of the way to hit his open shots and "occasionally" takes is hard to the basket and is a better passer than Curry (which is not saying much). Curry has an edge with his post skills but his lazy approach makes them null. And don't get me started with the contract side of it. As harsh as it sounds, Blount is a bargain when compared to Curry.

Please I dont want that fat slob anywhere near south beach. That guy is the laziest piece of crap in the world. Classic case of a player taking his millions and knowing he doesnt have to work for it anymore.

We just traded Curry, I don't see the point in taking him back again.

I doubt a trade between the Heat and NY to happen unless its too good for Miami to turn down.

I prefer Randolph over Curry.

I got crucified on a thread regarding Curry on the Knicks board a couple years ago when I replied 'are you sure about that?' to a post that said Curry was the second best offensive post player in the league. The best being Shaq. I rose on the third day.

P.S. I'd take Starbury for Williams, Davis, and Blount. Don't hate.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?
