We need this kind of attitude.

"It's not going to take long, if it [the trade] happens. I just want to fit in and be one of the pieces of the puzzle. With Dirk and Josh, it's just a matter of them being ready to catch the ball and score."

I can't tell you how much I freakin' love that last statement. I may be misinterpreting it, but it sounds to me like Kidd's almost calling out Dirk and Josh. Not in a negative way or anything, just saying, "I'm going to do my job, so you damn well better do yours." It's subtle, but I think he's asking his two star-level teammates to be accountable. And we've needed that type of leadership since I've watched the Mavs. (Or maybe I'm reading too much into it, but that was my first impression: "Awesome!")

Kidd knows what he can do and so do the fans. We don't expect him to score night, all I ask for him to do is average nearly a triple double every night, and free up his teammates. That's not asking much out of a player that's currently doing that now, is it?

With this offense, Kidd hardly needs to shoot at all. The guy could end up with 20 assists a night in some games. Face it, he's in PG heaven. He's got scorers at every position and with three off the bench (Stack, George, and Bass). An 8 assist game for Kidd on these Mavs could be interpreted as a poor game (after they all get used to each other). If you have Kidd in your fantasy league and are counting on him for assists, you just hit the motherlode...
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

I dont think Kidd will be difficult to mesh with this veteran team.

Sad thing is that Kidd should have never left the Mavs in the first place if it wasn't for Jim Clemons & Toni Braxton...

Can you imagine what Kidd would have been if he was in Dallas with Nellie?

Jim Jackson and J. Kidd were both going after Toni Braxton. Jim Jackson is retired, Toni Braxton is one step away from being on a VH1 reality show, and only J. Kidd is still on his game. Jim Cleamons has never gotten another head coaching opportunity, neither has the tumultous Quinn Buckner.
