#1, Does Atlanta's acquisition of Bibby put pressure on Easy Ed to make am move?

#2, Regarding Miller's value vs. Bibby's value
.

1) Ed doesnt get anymore pressure. Bibby was mostly a salary dump, making much more $$$$, with a team that already views itself w its "star" (kevin Martin)

Miller has 1 more year, less $$$$ and is helping the development of this current team who is still searching for its star.....

2) value wise: as they say it only takes ONE gm. The major difference with the two players is that Bibby has a proven record in the playoffs, and more importantly is a better (some would say MUCH MUCH better) outside shooter which is what Atlanta needed

you can bring up injuries, and they're kinda valid, but what Miller is doing this year, Atlanta already has players who do all that-- Joe Johnson controls much of the ball and is the dribble penetrator

I also stress, that before Miller got here a lot of people, with his unflashy ways, dont understand all that he does just to help a team win. He is soo good, but what he does isnt measured on highlights etc.... even Mr Ed himself, the scout and rival GM 90 miles away who saw us w Miller several times, said HE didnt know just how good MIller was/is.....

how many of us were saying, "WOW, we got andre Miller forIverson Im sooo excited!! (lol)"

so Miller's value is a game in game out, month by month value where Bibby showed at Arizona's nat'l title run as a Frosh, and then many many times w Sac how clutch and big a performer he is/was.....

I would say Bibby has more value then Miller. He is younger and has had alot more playoff success. I would also argue that Bibby is the better player overall.

People trading for Bibby (or Miller) are not looking for youth. They're looking for now. Bibby's a horrible defender coming off a very bad injury and hasn't shown he can return to his previous form yet. Miller's having arguably the best year of his career. And Miller makes less. IMO Andre definitely has more value right now than Bibby.

I think the Hawks are looking for both Now & Later, making Bibby a good fit since they have such a young team. He good still be there starting PG in 5 years.

From an Atl fan's perspective: a lot of us think that this makes us more likely to resign Smith, ownership has shown they'll take on salary and that was the concern before. Chil is another issue but many of us thought that he was going to be out of here by next season anyway.

I was a big proponent of trying to acquire Dre because he would make the team more exciting but Bibby really helps us in the halfcourt with his shooting and thats where we have really struggled all year, he sucks at D but he is only as bad as Johnson and better at it than Lue who was usually in during crunch time.

Regarding Miller, its hard to guage a player's value based on how much another player fetched. Shaq got Miami Marion but Gasol could only pull in Kwame... Bibby cost us nothing but Kidd could have cost Dallas Harris, Diop, and Stack.

I can't wait to go to a Hawks game(feels weird saying that lol)

This looks like the package we would have gotten if we traded Miller to ATL(I'm glad we didn't trade him)

I was saying that until Miller started to kill our chances of acquiring Oden/Durant.

Oden: Who knows about him? If his injury impacts him in a major way. Then who knows we may be thankful Miller did kill those ping pong balls :D.

Durant: I'm losing the kool-aid on this kid, he's supposed to be the new leader of the Seattle Supersonics right? Well, look up the Sonics record when Durant takes more then 20 shots a game. Then look up how many he makes on average. (6-8 shots a game in those games). Allen Iverson-numbers from a small forward is unforgivable and if he proves that throughout his career then I'm glad he's not our franchise player either.

In regards to the deadline: I think of Ed Stefanski like current Phillies GM Pat Gillick= Stand Pat. I think he'll just ride things out untill the off-season. Because as it stands right now, GM'S are trading for "names", and Andre Miller is not a flashy name. But when Andre Miller is expiring. AKA this off-season. I can see him pulling a move for Andre+ to a mediocre team wanting to get rid of it's star: Vince Carter(NJN).
