Will Garbo be ready for the playoffs?

Post#1 » by Lanny-Barbie » Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:55 pm

I'm curious, have not heard anything in regards to him lately. Last I remember is that he might be ready to go and was off his crutches, and will try and suit up for the Spanish National team in he Olympics.

Btw anyone else concerned Jose will get worn out by the end of this summer, playing all these minutes for the Raps and he will prolly carry Spain deep and log heavier minutes there.

I doubt Garbo will play again this season. Then again I heard that he intends to play for Spain in the Summer so who knows. Either way though, he'll probably be very rusty and slow so he'll just be a liability for us.

If you ask Garbo he can be ready for the playoffs.

If you ask the Raptors, I bet he is not on the playoff roster.

Garbo is not going to play this year no matter if we make the playoffs or not.

Jose is not going to play 30+ minutes after a few games as TJ is back and would definitely get in to better game shape playing 20+ minutes coming off the bench. Also, spain is going to play Carlo Navarro as a backup to Calderon, so he won't be logging heavier minutes.

My bet is he maybe done....at his age you can't really count on him coming back to do of much anything.

One of the games last week when they were showing Calderon at halftime in the locker room handing out gatorades, you could see Garbo in there with his crutches still beside him. At this point it looks like this season is a write-off for him.

How old is garbo now? Might as well trade him while his value is somewhat up. Never know, his injury might hinder on his game.

Garbo just turned 30 so he's still got some years a head of him.

I don't know how you can say his value is somewhat high right now? It's probably at it's lowest considering he's missed over a year with the injury.

Navarro is an SG who will play heavy minutes because he is a polished shooter with great experience. Rudy Fernandez and/or Sergio Rodriguez will likely back up Jose.

Yes, if he comes back and sucks. Then again he could be good, but his injury was nasty.

Still better all around player than Moon. He is the missing piece for the Raptors this year. Defensively he's better, he shoots better and doesn't smile after a hard foul.

I hope he will be back for next year. He could come off the bench as a PF. I'd take him over Hump anyday.
