Thank You Boogiesdad & Manhattan Project

Post#1 » by mkwest » Thu Feb 7, 2008 12:23 am

We would like to show our appreciation, gratitude and respect for two of RealGM's finest whom we have had the pleasure of having as moderators on our board. Manhattan Project and Boogiesdad extended themselves to us by taking on the least active team (at the time) section of the forums. When they first began it was only supposed to be for a few weeks, but we have been blessed to have them with us for almost 2 years. They both originally came to offer their help and assistance, but as time went on they became a big part of our core group of posters and blended right in. Any type of discussion of the team, games, etc., they have been right in the mix of things. They each had high hopes of seeing activity grow and for the board to become more lively. That goal is coming along day-by-day even though there has been some ups and downs with the team that we love.

Boogiesdad & Manahattan Project's patience and dedication have been a great example to us all. They have helped to build a good foundation. You both have helped me as a mod. I've had the opportunity to learn from 2 of the best. Manhattan Project and Boogiesdad will always be a part of this forum, so hopefully both of you will continue to drop by often.

Thank you both for all that you have given us.

I do remember a few years ago when TrueLAFan left. I was thinking to myself who's gonna be our Moderator or if we weren't gonna have one at all. Our board was the least active and it has grown in the past few years, especially this season. I remember days when hardly anyone would post anything. MP and boogie really helped us through those times. They have been great mods for us and I hope both of you continue to stop by and continue to put in your opinions about the Clippers.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Its been a blast.............what am I saying it's still a blast.

I will still be here. I won't abandon my second team.

MP and I have really enjoyed our time here. We have tried to back off recently to allow MK to grow and take over the reins. Loflin will be a perfect compliment.

If anyone needs me feel free to PM.

I never seen so much sucking up in my lifetime...

Seriously though like mentioned were werent supposed to be here for that long but duty called. Now over the time that has passed and in a week nothing will change with me and Boogie will still be here posting amongst you in every thread. So basically thanks for the kind words, but they are for naught. We will still be here...

The board is now under complete control of two excellent mods in MK and Lofin. Have at it... :D

Boogie and MP did an expectional job at reviving the Clips board from the coma it was close to slipping into. W/o them and the small hand of fans from two yrs ago doing their best to help. This board wouldn't have a better sense of life here in the Clippers board. A definate thx to both boogie and MP for what they done here.

Manhattan Project (such a curious name for someone so amiable) and boogiesdad (equally amiable, of course) --- I hope you guys feel appreciated, because you truly are appreciated by the people on this board, oddly assorted group that we are.
We all enjoy the results of the way the board has grown on your watch, both in size and in quality.
Several of the boards are full of insults, put-downs and "board rage," a close relative of road rage, expressed anonymously from the computer as some people do from their cars. Nothing like that here, though. This board is invariably civil and courteous and accepting, even when a great variety of opinions are put forward. Even when people from other boards come here and say inflammatory things, we simply ignore them.
I have always been impressed by this civilized tone, and I believe it has been set by the mods. Thank you for that.
It makes the whole experience a happier and better one for all of us.
Thank you, too, for making us all welcome and accepted, even when some of us are far from the average-NBA-board-poster gender, age, location, circumstances, other interests, etc. It's another thing that has always impressed me, and made me personally grateful to you both.
I look forward to your continued enthusiastic participation, and your contributions both thoughtful and entertaining, to the Clippers board threads.
And I'm glad that mkw and loflin are carrying on in the wonderful spirit to which we have become accustomed.
All of you guys are the best.
Thank you.

It went a lot longer than first expected but did Boogiesdad and Manhattan Project hang in there.

Thanks so much for everything you guys gave this forum.

I just like the ring of it, plus I live in New York and work in Manhattan. Then again it has an affiliation to the bomb, either way it came down to I liked the way it sounded.

Yes. it was that affiliation to nuclear weapons, to the bomb, that had me somewhat bemused, if not unnerved --- but you don't sound too alarmingly like the uber-violent type.
It must be that you are "da bomb" in your New York hood --- since I'm sure it can't be a reference to your hometown team bombing so severely at the moment. :)
At any rate, it's good to have board names we like the ring of. I feel the same way about mine.
