You can take the 1st rounder out rocdogg. It's also not in the Pistons best interests to trade a late 1st rounder since Dumars best picks have come in that range. I would trade Chil for Afflalo/Hayes especially since Afflalo is on a cheap rookie deal for 4 years and is already a rotation player on an elite team. Hayes is a nice shooter...you can keep Murray if possible. He's an awful player when he has to come off the bench(a decent starter)but he is salary filler(is he an expiring?).

That is what I hope.
We would also be set up nicely for the future.
Stuckey- looks like he will be a stud PG/SG not too far down the road.
Maxiell - is an aggressive beast off the bench, could be trade bait
Amir - will eventually take over the starting 4. I would say he could be like a taller version of J Smoove with a very efficient FG%. He needs to bulk up a bit though.
Samb - 7'1" 245lbs(and growing) He could be our taller version of Marcus Camby if he continues improving his game. He has only played 5 years of ball but has a good stroke, knows positioning, blocks everything (more blocks by himself than any team as a whole 1 year in the spanish league

Tay is only 27 and Chill is younger still...
Future Lineup:
Stuckey/Chill/Tay/Amir/Samb
Mad Max? 6th man, plus whomever Joe D fills the team out with.
Not too shabby me thinks and it wouldn't be too fun trying to take it to the rim against that lineup.

the pistons are looking for financial stability also and i think they are going to keep their team for a while. with childress you have to look how the market is going to react to so many players being on the market. their is a good chance we can resign childress for anywhere from 5-6 million a year which is good for a 6th man. anything more and we are going to looking good because of the pieces we would be recieving from a josh childress sign and trade. i would like to keep all of our core players (and that includes childress) but either way we should be in a good position to get into the playoffs next year since our bench should be alot better.

A move like this wouldn't hurt the Piston's financial standing, they would fill out the roster with draft picks and call it a day. We roll with the team we have and slowly bring the youth to the forefront as the core gets older.
If Chill wants too much $ I am not so sure a S&T would even be feasible with the guys you still need to reup. Smith should get max dollars, and Down the road Horford could as well. Marvin will want to get paid and if Law busts out he could also demand a good chunk of dough. Not many teams will have the $ to dish out though so you can always low ball ala Cleveland.
It will be interesting to see how things play out.

What's the point to give Childress to DET if that put them over the top. Why DET can get and maybe keep Childress, and we can't ? What do we have to win to improve a team whoch is already better than us ?
I don't understand that. If Childress and the other can understand that if they sign extensions for a good but decent contract, they can turn this team into a contender in the next months or years. And management should see it.
Unless you are sure Childress will ask for 10M this summer, I don't see why we should trade him now, especially to DET who is the example of a team well build.
ATL should see how DET did and do the same instead of helping them to be even better.
