Sixers Interest In Artest Isn't Serious

The Philadelphia Inquirer -
The Philadelphia 76ers are interested in Sacramento Kings forward Ron Artest, but sources close to both teams don't expect the interest to amount to anything, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

If Artest is traded, it appears as though Denver is the most likely destination as the deadline draws near. [READ]

Pretty cool that Iggy inspirated Howard for the dunk contest!

I think getting Artest would make us an exciting team. What do you all think it would take getting him?

It looks like we will make the playoffs. Artest would get us deep in our division.

That realgm chose to use that specific phrase in the wiretap headline seems a bit inaccurate as that phrase or anything like it wasn't in the original article.

The rumors that the Sixers are interested in Sacramento's Ron Artest won't amount to anything, according to a person familiar with both teams. . . .

The article doesn't say that the interest isn't there, it just says that the source doesn't think it will happen.

I don't get it why the Denver Nuggets are the more likely destination if they are truly offering just Kleiza and Najera. I guess they are just valuing the exp.contract of Najera more than I do.

We can and we should outbid Denver for Ron Artest.

76ers send:
Gordan Girick
Willie Green
1st round draft pick

Kings send:
Ron Artest

Get it done.

Sixerfan1976 talked about this in the "Trade Deadline" thread. He said Artest doesn't want to come to Philly.

Can't combine Giricek in a deal so this one can't happen. You could substitute Kevin Ollie though.

He isn't gospel. Still worth discussing IMO.

Sure... I didn't say not to discuss it. I'm just saying that all signs point to this not happening.
