I thought this was a serious proposal for a second
I'd probably trade the whole team for Lebron and start from scratch if given a chance. It's pretty hard to do a worse job than Jim Paxson/Danny Ferry did when it came to building Lebron's supporting cast....and he still took them to the finals in his 4th year.

I knew this was a joke no matter the age of the OP

If you think JKidd is being traded for alot (and Dallas is way overpaying),
then wait til you see the LeBron proposals if Ferry knows that they won't be able to keep him.
Finally, he wouldn't come to this group of unsure ownership group anyway. If you see LeBron move, look at NY, Chicago or LA to continue the championship tradition potential they have out in LA.

Are you serious? I don't think Lebron going to a huge market is that out of the question(although I do think he enjoys playing in Ohio more than people think) in the future but he's not going to take less money to do it. Player's don't get desperate to take less money to win until they realize they don't have much time left. The funny thing is that the Knicks may still be stuck with Randolph/Curry/Jeffries even when Lebron,Wade, and Bosh are free agents. I can also imagine David Lee getting overpaid because he's a fan favorite and Isiah could still be the GM this summer when he's up for extension.

Oh the roster will suck, but as long as they don't do anything stupid before 2010/2011 they will be prime to get him with the understanding that they will fill in with another free agent afterwards. The problem is that Isiah can't do it. His ego would get in the way. I think they'd be better off with Billy Knight. He might screw up the draft picks, but he can handle a fire sale.
Simple plan:
Curry (4yr deal)/Lee (carrot to take Curry + keeps from overpaying him) to Miami for Jason Williams and Earl Barron (both expiring) and 2010 1st pick.
Gives Riley a big and replacement for Haslem who they can peddle to Orlando for a pick. The 2010 1st rounder is a minor cost.
Wade
Cook
Marion
Lee
Curry
Jamal Crawford (4yr deal, but reasonable)/Malik Rose (1 more year only) to Chicago for Ben Wallace (3 year deal expires right on time)
Crawford gives them a big guard to pair with Hinrich and allows them to S&T Ben Gordon in the off season. Rose will expire next year.
NY would have a lotto pick in 2008 and 2009 and a 2nd rounder in 2008 and 2008 plus the Miami pick in 2010 (the Knick 2010 pick goes to Utah).
When Lebron can opt out NY should have an expiring Randolph and expiring Jeffries along with the 2 lottery picks on the roster at the time. They could even bid on a 2nd free agent at the time or max out another player the following season.

Not likely.
Nike had him under contract to pay him MILLIONS more if he joined the Knicks, New Jersey or Bulls over Cleveland. Lebron didn't, passed on the extra Nike money, and most likely would turn to one of those team if he felt the need to leave Cleveland.
At this time I can't remember the exact amount, but I believe it was between 20-50 million more if he joined one of those three teams. IMO, Lebron made the right choice, but the time is coming for him to think about his future, and if he truly feels he can with a championship with Cleveland.

Lebron would only consider NY, LA, and Chicago, but NY is clearly ahead. I said a bit earlier that his personal sponsors will give him much more money that he'd get even if re-signed with Cleveland due to the market he'd be playing in. So, it's not that Cleveland can offer him more than anyone. It's the whole picture here, and it just makes sense that he goes to the Knicks as long as they clean a bit of that mess there. On the top of that, he'd be the Knicks savior ! You can't ask for more than that, not even if you're the King.
GO HAWKS.
