I actually wouldn't mind trading him for O'Neal. His contract ends the summer LeBron and co. hit free agency and thats about 22 or so million coming off the books.

Clearly you are a new NETS Fan.

Who knows, now with Kidd gone, Carter might play better if the offensive focus shifts back to him. Time will tell, but from what we've heard there are no good deals worth trading Carter for. We actually NEED Vince if we expect to remain competitive, and with a young athletic froncourt and a lightning fast PG, we need that go to guy.

*sigh*

What for? Lottery should be the goal.

I could then see off season moves involving our plethora of draft picks and/or one of our prospects and/or RJ for a big man.

I could also see Rod still trying for Mike Miller before the deadline.

At this point i am begging for Mike Miller because we need to get a shooter and we need to get Snackbar the hell out of NJ. The guy has been an absolute disappoinment has played soft for 98% of the season.

T-Mac for Vince? Pfft. That's like trading one order of soft serve ice cream on a cone for one in a dairy queen cup. Added w/ the fact that McGrady is Mr. Glass, no thanks!!

our goal should be lottery for OJ MAYO. Seriously though we need a top SG in the draft so him or eric gordon although I would rather have OJ than him.

I agree, but with as bad as the east is i think this team could stumble their way into the post season. I for one don't agree with dwelling in mediocrity, but i don't believe in tanking it either. That's weak. We just got younger and we have a solid young front court. I don't even consider us to be rebuilding at this point, more like retooling.

And i have been a Nets fan since 1988 my friend and i call it like it is about our beloved team...there is no need for insults we are all Nets fans here. Thank you.

For me, Tank Away.

The Spurs unofficially tanked and they got Tim Duncan. How many championships did they win with him?

Sorry, buddy. To hear some call Kidd a wifebeater, that usually comes from people that arent Nets fans. Though I dont agree with clocking your lady, Kidd was this franchise. I expect that from trolls.

Man that kid OJ Mayo got shut down pretty hard in the last game he played. I'm really not impressed by these hyped up players. We have plenty of youth, i think we definitely need a swingman off the bench though.

I expect professionalism from a guy who getting damn near 18 millon dollars in a year and this season Kidd has been far from that and I believe in my heart he sabotaged this team and i'm glad he's gone. Had he gone about this like a professional, i.e. Kevin Garnett, i would be singing his praises, but from the migraine incident to dogging it during that nine game losing streak and all of a sudden playing with interest when Mark Cuban was in the audience, a lost all respect for him. I know some people still love Kidd, but not me, so i refer to him as the wifebeater...sorry.

without knowing a ton about harris and knowing a little about jefferson and way to much about vince, where will new jersey find the killer instinct that jason kidd brought? he may have been a poor shooter at times, but this guy's intensity and will is second only to maybe a garnett.
who on the nets takes the reigns now?

Good Question!

RJ will be the vocal one, but he lacks the talent to back up his talk. He will try though. It really should be VC, but IMO VC cant even lead an electric slide dance line.

I'd say Iverson, then Kidd :)

You pose a good question, can Vince step up. No, NJ was supposed to be his awakening...it really hasn't though. RJ, yeah he CAN....but I don't know if he can lead.
They way I see it, NJ has all the pieces (RJ, VC even Harris) to rebuild...but rebuild fast. You can easily swap RJ and VC for some hot young talent.

The lottery is overrated. You never get what you want. Let's just say being a Celtic's fan i have a little knowledge on this matter. I just see how this made your team better, I think it was an all around good deal for you guys.

How?

I think Rockets would be much better off with Vince.
How exactly? McGrady is younger, is a better scorer, a better playmaker, a better defender.

The only reason his stats have been down this season is because he left alot of games early and tried to play a 2 week stretch injured. (Ended up sitting once he finally took an MRI and came up w/ a strained knee tendon).

Looking at the Box Scores:
McGrady was averaging 30p/6a/6r/1s on 47% shooting through the first 9 games.

He then had that freak elbow injury against LA, and sits out a few games. He comes back in the lineup, has 2 horrible games when he first returns. Then averaged 26p/6a/5r/1s on 46% shooting over the next 10 games. He hurt his knee in practice during the final game of this stretch.

He left 2 of the next 4 games early, and finally decided to get an MRI out after having to leave at half time against the Pistons. He had a strained tendon in his knee, so he had to sit.

He came back in January, had two horrible games - then averaged 25/7a/5r/1s on 45% shooting from the floor over the next 6 games on one leg.

He reaggravated his knee in game, and as a result the past 4 games leading up to today have been horrible. He's only averaged 13 shot attempts because he can barely move.

McGrady has clearly been outplaying Carter this season when healthy. The only (?) when it comes to him is if he'll stay healthy.

He's had the all-star break to rest, so hopefully his knee is feeling a little better going into today's game.

I disagree that lottery is overrated. On the all star rosters alone this weekend there were 5 players selected in the last 5 years who were picked in the lottery after the 1st overall pick. The reason why a lot of lottery picks bust is because most of the teams that pick in the lottery are run like crap, hence why they are in the lottery. When smart franchises pick high, they usually get good players.

Me personally, the VC diggs are old becuase when he is playing great. You dont hear nothing from the nut gallery.

I see no appeciation for a guy who has played with a bad ankle. A coach who tailored a playbook to compensate the third best player on the team. Which is debatable one when Nenad is healthy.

Everybody wants a Kobe, Wade or Lebron two of these guys won a championships with Shaq and one lost to Duncan.

I'll take my chances with a reluctant superstar who tries to work within the program and does not get in trouble with NY club scene, who is not accused with choking somebody.

The wifebeater name calling is classless because I am not thinking about it during the game. So I will not lower myself to use that to make an argument. But Kidd did give up on the team!!!!!!!!

I hope Thorn opinion is to let VC stay and work with this team and probably get a legit PF. if it doesn't work then break it up.

Ok you need excellent MGT and to be lucky enough to get a high pick. So in BOS for a while we had neither. If we landed the #2 pick last Paul Pierce is gone, we take Kevin Durant and still have Al jefferson. This year is another 30 win year for us. So you have to be lucky and good. That is a tough combo.

The person who will make sure that everyone is in the game. There are two players who do not pass on our team so then it is my hope that Harris and Carter develop a good chemistry.

intensity will come from the player who will handle stopping dribble penetration so that we wont give up wide open threes which has been our biggest problem this year.
