Why 4 Memphis: To save money. Both Garrity and Dooling expire at the end of the season while Brian Cardinal, perhaps their worst contract, is on the books for two seasons after this. It's also no secret that Cardinal's departure is among the top priorities for a front office trying to shave salary and rebuild around Rudy Gay and Mike Connely. Lowry is the necessary sacrifice for such a deal to occur.

Why 4 Orlando: In a relatively weak east Orlando has a very legitimate chance of playing for the trophy this year. However, they are still heavy underdogs against the West elite. While a talented PF would be the optimal trade return, the price for anything reasonble simply dosnt fit into Orlando's short or long term plans.
Adding a player of Artests caliber, while giving up nothing other than seldom used players and, presumably, a late first rd. pick is a coup. Artest will join a dynamic starting unit of, Howard, Turk, Lewis and Nelson. His perimeter defense, versaitility and hustle would compliment the team perfectly. While the additional salary of Cardinal might be a minor blight in the future, the chance to win a championship supercedes any financial hangover.

Why 4 Sacramento: The Bibby trade signified what many believed needed to happen; A team overhaul. Or more like a cleansing of the tenured group of high priced players, i.e. Bibby, Abdur Rahim, Miller and possibly Artest. The young core of the Kings is exceptional, especially on the wings, but the loss of Bibby leaves a major hole at PG. Lowry, while still mostly unproven, is a very skilled young PG who if developed could become a mainstay for Sacramento. Between Lowry, another 1st rd. pick and the immediate savings, Sacramento gets a solid return on a player who might leave after this season anyways.

Why would we want Lowry. We have 3 PG currently under contract as well as Douby. And Bogans is another wing player that we dont need. I would rather keep Ron than get this deal.

For the most part I actually like this deal. I like the idea of bringing Lowery in. Beno and him could be a pretty good PG tandem for this team over the next few years. I also like the Idea of getting a pick from the Magic, however it would be around 20 to 25. So, thats probably the only reason why I dont consider this.

I'd say hell yes here. Lowry is the perfect passing prospect we need.

Ehh, if it's the best we can get, sure, I'd do it. I like Lowry, but I see both him and Beno as really good backups--or at least not starters on great teams. But it's okay enough.
