Kaman for Biedrins/Harrington...what do you think?

I think this is just a baseless rumor. Why would the Clips do it when Kaman is locked up for awhile and Biedrins/Harrington will demand fat contracts?

Plus they would go from the run-n-gun system in GS to the "slow it down, wait till 3 seconds left on the clock" system in LA and I don't know how they would adjust to that.

When the headlines read.

A guy just reported a rumor on KNBR: Biedrins/Harrington for Kaman (Kaman pairs with Bwright)

How much creditability does this really have before you even read more than that?

As for the trade itself. I'd pass on it. Kaman and Brand in the front court will be a difficult matchup when the team gets healthy next season. We're already stacked in the forward position so we don't really need Harrington, and Biedrins is a step down from Kaman. We just need a pure shooter and perhaps a backup PG if Livingston isn't back next year.

just curious, when brand is back fully healthy, centerpiece of offense, wouldnt you expect kaman's production to go down?

Kaman's production will go down but I'm sure it won't be my much. And how often do teams actually have legitimate centers that will rebound, block shots, and score in the post. Kaman doesn't have to be our first option but he is an important part of our team. With Brand and Kaman teams will have trouble stopping us in the post.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

His production will go down, but his importance will remain. It is not like when Brand comes back Kaman will automatically go back to what he was 2 years ago. He won't be double teamed as much as he is now and will still be a force down low. He is still a good shot blocker and rebounder. He doesn't care about stats. He just wants to win and has no problems taking a back seat for Brand and Maggette.

Even then you can say the same thing if he moves to GS. He is not the run and gun type of center. His production will decrease if he's traded to that team that focuses on running and jacking up shots. So either way he'll end up being a rebound/shot blocker for either team.

Edit - awkward typo. o.O

Amen.

That said, isn't there a specific thread for nonsense trade talks like these? There is zero substance to this. Pretty much, it's doo-doo. Kaman, Thornton, Livingston, & Brand are gonna be what rocks the Clips boat for the next few years. They ain't goin' nowhere.

Having EB back will lower Kaman's production a wee bit but at the same time make it much easier for him. He's had to work for most of his baskets this season being a primary option. The opposition won't be able to double them both. As long as Chris is focused and continues to develop his game, he'll put up decent stats be it offensively, defensively, on the boards, etc. His stats will just fluctuate from game to game.

Thumbs down on the trade though. I like Beans, but not at the expense of Kaman. Others have said that it would create a logjam at the forward spots if you add in OriginAL, plus it would be more costly as well.

Someone on the W's board said that the call was Al and Pietrus for Kaman...which makes no sense for you unless it's a total salary dump.

I'd do that if Elton decides to opt out and sign with the Clippers in the offseason and only then :D.

I'd be willing to trade Kaman and a couple future #1 picks for Biedrins and Monta Ellis. The Clippers would have to get a guard back in any trade with the Warriors.
