All-star caliber 7 footers don't come off the bench, not unless you got Chris Webber/Vlade Divac as your starting frontcourt. Brad would start and either slide Hedo to the 2 or have Hedo come off the bench.

i dont see how adding Miller would help solve our defensive problems. Maybe someone can elaborate? Or is the assumption that defense will be improved simply because he's 7ft?

not so much defensive help ... but rebounding... less second chances for the other team

He wouldn't but he'd solve your ineffective play at the point(Jameer is a scoring guard a la Mike Bibby) which would make Jameer INFINITELY more effective. He'll make Dwight a more effective post player as he'll help unclog the lane with his passing/shooting ability. And he's still 7 foot and rebounding the ball very well this season. Two weeks ago he was the WC player of the week after getting cosecutive 20/20 games.

Brad overall would make your team a TON better, I hope it's the Kenny/Garcia proposal for exprings that Otis accepts. I'd HATE to see Brad Miller go.

Update - Basically the luxury tax may kill this deal. If the Magic did this deal, they would have 10 players on the roster that = 68.2 million this summer. This is before Fran comes over from Spain which would add an additional 1.5 million and at least a 1st round draft pick. Not to mention they will have Dooling and Evans as FAs.

I can't believe money is standing in the way of this deal. Devos better approve it.

As far as I know, that's the thread where you'd see updates first.
11/18/2017 - I have officially disowned Nikola Vucevic and branded him a loser.

- Skal Labissiere was my guy in 2016 pre-trade. Whoops, but I still believe.
- Malik Monk was my guy in 2017. Whoops(?)
- Mo Bamba was my guy in 2018. TBD.

well devos said that we will go into the lux tax for the right player... this trade gives us the size to go up against the west... i hope he understands that this would make us contenders for the championship

I'd much rather have Haslem than B. Miller. If JJ is truly the hold up on the Haslem deal I think I might lose all hope for Otis.

Nothing personal, dunkonyou, but I have to say that I'm "skeptical'' about your sources. Anyone can come on here and say their "sources'' tell them that something is in the works -- especially when they come back later and have a ''reason'' for why it won't happen now.

There are a few teams in the hunt for Miller, but right now the only deal being worked out is with the Magic. Of course it seems as if Otis will have to get approval from Devos since it will put the Magic in the luxury tax zone.
