Kings/Magic trade rumor
There's a rumor on the Orlando board (dont know how legit it is) that the Kings are in trade talks with the Magic. The Magic would get Brad Miller and Garcia, Kings would get 2 expirings(Arroyo+Garrity), Keith Bogans and a future 1st round pick. Dont know how legit this rumor is, and its not great value for the Kings but it does get us out of a lot of salary. I dont like the thought of losing Garcia for this package though, and hopefully we can get JJ Redick instead of Bogans.

It's legit, the pieces aren't.
It's Brad for Expirings/Redick/1st
OR
Kenny/Garcia for Expirings
PLEASE be the latter. I love Garcia, but hate Kenny and his contract more.

I'm not sure how true the rumor is, but I wouldn't hold out hopes for acquiring JJ Redick in the deal. Our GM, Otis Smith, really doesn't want to trade him according to the same source behind this rumor. Smith has also stated publicly that he doesn't want to trade JJ (FWIW).
Supposedly Redick is the hold up in a couple of other deals where ORL would get a starting PF. One is for Haslem in MIA and the other for Kurt Thomas in SEA.

^I honestly hope your souce is legit and its just not wishful thinking on your part. The deals you posted are WAY better for the Kings than the ones on the Orlando board, and the Magic fans love the first deal and think its too good to be true. Hopefully its just not both fan bases posting what they want done instead of whats actually being talked about.

Has your source had a heads up on any other deals? Can you provide links to other trades threads that came true?

Why would we trade Brad. I mean I realize we are rebuilding but is Hawes the answer right now. Its not like Brad is that over paid for a legit center, not to mention Theus has him playing the best ball of his career. Same with Garcia. I just dont see any upgrade by dealing either of these players. Who cares about salary no FA will come here if we coompletely strip the team of its talent.
So I say KEEP BRAD!!

Well, I don't quite like that original deal. That's not really the definition of a "solid package" to me.
But with Smills reported proposals, I'd be into either deal....
I'd be cool with getting Redick, I really like him as an offensive spark, clutch shooter off the bench (he has hit some big shots so far). It's not like we don't and won't have have defense on the perimeter. Thing is, still don't see where he'd get decent minutes or a consistent oppurtunity with us, though. Similar to Orlando. Aside from Kevin, you have Garcia/Salmons/Douby (partial SG time now/future), and then Redick.
On the second deal, gotta give up (Garcia), get rid of (Kenny's contract), to get more flexibility and space for the future.
But Brad/Garcia for expirings/Bogans (smaller, better shooting, not as athletic Dahntay Jones)/late R1 pick? Blech. That's leaving some to be desired for me. I think better needs to be gotten for Brad/Garcia. I'd settle off on doing that deal.

Has anyone heard anything about Brad Miller to the Bulls? I can see why they'd be interested though. He had good games both times we played them, and he expires the same year as Ben Wallace. Miller-Wallace-Deng-Gordon-Hinrich is a pretty good team. I havent heard what we would get back but I think it'd have to be one of Tyrus Thomas/Noah.

I'm gonna have to call BS on this one.
Miller for expirings/JJ/1st MAYBE but...
Miller AND Garcia?! I don't think so...Kings want to keep Garcia. They are looking to just get rid of him for expirings as well.
Now if Kenny Thomas is being traded, then yeah, I can see the Kings throwing in Garcia to make the deal better for the Magic.
No way Garcia is just a throw in.
Besides, I don't think we will be taking any 1 for 3 deals anytime soon. Who would we waive? If anything, it will be a 2 for 3 or 1 for 2 deal...

Trading Brad allows us to play for Josh Smith/Okafor/Jefferson this summer

I'd give up Brad for Tyrus or Noah in a flash. And a side note on Tyrus, he has had a few good games lately (because he got minutes).
While I'm a fan of Ben Gordon and is a talented scorer - he doesn't fit with us unless he's coming off the bench at SG. One of the bench guards would have to be moved or not re-signed, too.

from an Orlando source
Last I heard...
Kings have put a 8 AM PST deadline on the Miller deal (as they're talking with other teams, none near as serious as the Magic though) and no deadline on the Kenny Thomas version for obvious reasons. lol
Seattle is trying to get Orlando to take on Damien Wilkins in the Kurt Thomas deal as well.
I'm not positive on the Seattle situation, but, the Kings have placed an offer out there for the Magic involving Brad, and if not taken by the Magic, it's because they felt for whatever reason (financial, etc)...it wasn't in their best interest. The deal is 120% on the table though.
