Anyone else getting the feeling we won't make a trade?

I've had the feeling for a while but some recent rumors got my hopes up(aside from Granger rumor).

Also what list? Can I be on it? I feel all left out if not. :-p

cogent point

Hoopshype said JO for Carter is back on. Also says NJ is almost certain to trade Carter by the deadline. Key word being Hoopshype so who knows.

I wish it could, but I don't think there's much chance that it will be a defining week. The Pacers are stuck in limbo, and there's not much hope of changing that this week, short of finding an opposing GM who is an incredible sucker.

Most likely, all the Pacers can do for the next two or three years is ride out the bad contracts while trying to acquire good young talent through the draft.

Be patient, front office, and don't make any moves that dig the hole deeper, just for some low-percentage shot at middling success in the next year or two. I'm prepared to wait out a dry spell, so long as I think the front office's approach to our current situation is smart.

While some fans are willing to wait it out, look at the pacers attendance now. We're last in the league. Pacers fans have been spoiled with the likes of Reggie Miller, Rik Smits, Mark Jackson, even Derrick McKey. Now that the team is finally going down, no one wants to pay any attention.

The Knicks felt they had to make big moves right away, too. Be careful what you wish for. Just take it a step at a time, and try to make each step forward.

The home attendance problem is a reflection of past mistakes. Making more mistakes will only exacerbate it.

I think we need to quit going for quick fixes and just fully commit to rebuilding. All quick fixes do is delay the inevitable. Look at Atlanta - they were trading 1sts for "established" players, and it ended up hurting them big time. It wasn't until the new management took over in 2004 and committed to the rebuild that they finally started to make progress. The Knicks are another example.

I hate to say it, no offense, but I think you're right Bucky. Larry should have fully committed to rebuilding last season we TPTB felt the need to trade Jackson for the value they could get at the time...

Walsh always did a terrific job of rebuilding on the fly, but Larry isn't Donnie.

Larry could learn though. If Donny sticks around, and I'm sure he wouldn't leave the organization in shambles like this, he could help teach Bird. Yes, it was tried during Birds first few years here, but now we're in a situation of desperation.
