Byron Scott is quoted on the wiretap as saying the Hornets are 50/50 on making a deal before the deadline. One player they have been tied to recently is Ben Gordon, from a source the Hornets fans on their board note as having a history of inside information.

The source says that deal fell through, but if they were interested in a similar package for Gordon, I wonder if they'd trade for Mo Williams:

Bucks trade: Mo Williams, Jake Voshkul
Hornets trade: Julian Wright, Bobby Jackson, Melvin Ely, Ryan Bowen

The Bucks were rumored to be real high on Wright during the draft, and considering he has the athleticism and passing ability sorely lacking on our team I bet we haven't changed our minds despite his slow development on a winning team. Bobby Jackson's veteran influence and steady play could help us a whole lot, both on the court and off as well. I had to include Big Jake, Ely, and Bowen to make the contracts work, and can easily see the ancillary players shifting---maybe so dramatically that we include CV.

I'd do this. I'm a big J. Wright fan.

I see where Byron Scott is 50/50 on confidence to complete a trade. Yes, by all means, Julian Wright would help us rebuild and get another piece to add to Yi and Bogut (who we all think are the two we'll build around). That's a nice future front court that we can put together right now. Not sure Mo is the piece they are looking for. CV would be very nice for them off the bench though. Maybe CV and Bell for Wright and a filler?

I like that idea as well, though i'm hoping we can dump Mo since I think he's a major part of our nasty chemistry. Mo's higher contract and pathetic defense (especially at the 2) might make your scenairo more realistic though.

However, if they were supposedly interested in Ben Gordon who wants more money than Mo gets and plays almost as bad of D, so maybe they would prefer Mo to the Bell/CV package depsite the issues.

If NO need anyone it is going to be more like Redd then Mo.
I really like this trade and as long as we Bucks fans are patience this trade would be good value for us in a season or two, but not this year

 my favorite trade idea so far... although I really doubt that N.O. would do it.

This unfortunately is the type of deal that we'd wait to make until the summer though...

Mo, Gadz
for
J. Wright, B. Jackson, Bowen, Vinicius, and H. Armstrong also works in the checker. Not sure NO would go for it but I would.

Why do you think that? The hornets are in a win now mode considering how good they are atop the western conference already, and Byron Scott himself said they are looking for bench help and are 50/50 going to make a move.

They like young players like Julian Wright and Hilton Armstrong a lot, but if it gets them the right veteran to help them win now I bet they cash in on their assett value despite their potential. It's not like Mo is old at all, even though he plays a position of less need than Wright does. However, Mo will certainly help them a lot more than Julian Wright woudl for the next few years, as it seems like Wright will need a lot of seasoning before he can contribute much on a contending tema.

I can't see NO with a 5'11" and 6' backcourt, unless Mo would be used as the 6th man.

I posted the scenario at on the Hornets board here: http://realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php? ... 2&start=24

The fans that were for a Ben Gordon trade don't seem to hate it, as he would be a a great 6th man for them, and he'd certainly help them more than Wright will for years.

I certainly wouldn't be dancing in the streets or bestowing a bunch of praise on Hammond though.
It's like taking three huge dumps on your kitchen floor, then cleaning up one of them.
