Yao seemed to be frustrated when he missed that point blank dunk but it's hard to tell if he is just having an off night or it's in his head because of his personality. There were a couple of times Yao had deep position where it is almost automatic for him and he still passed out of the double team to Rafer. Sure Rafer was hot but is feeding Rafer even when he's hot ever a good idea? Yao made an impact on the glass though which is good. If he was able to finish like he usually does off the offensive glass we would be here talking about the great game he had.

I think this game is a off game for Yao. This is the first game back from ASG weekend. You can tell he doesn't have great body control as usual (due to lack of playing/practise in the past 6 days). He is a step or two slower today but so was Lebron/T-mac in the first half. It takes him longer to get back into the game.

He will have a great game next time.

Very empty stats. He was a few levels below Charmin soft and could not buy a bucket, even dunk shots. There is no reason to give him excuses when he really, really sucked. Even a YOF like me can see when he is just utterly worthless.

McGrady on the other hand didn't shoot well but made the plays that needed to be made for the win. Yao was just utterly worthless in every aspect of the game.

True, that's one thing i love about Adelman. Balanced scoring, no longer are we relying solely on Mac and Yao. Anybody can contribute greatly on any given night.

Star players should fit into any type of offense that's ran by their coach.

kobe has NO conscience. if hes struggling, hes gonna keep shooting. he doesn't mind leaving his teammates out to dry on an off day. tmac is broke - hes gonna distribute and distribute. the playcall by adelman to get mcgrady a look was the right move, hence the 14-point half (ofter 2-9, 4 pts in the first half).

You're misunderstanding my point. Good coaches don't have to run "options" for their star players. If a star player knows how play within a system, he should fit in to the system. But McGrady wasn't fitting into our offense for the first three quarters, and you shouldn't blame R.A. for that.

I am not saying he should go Kobe on every game or even on a single game for that matter. I don't mind him passing the ball, and I don't doubt his playmaking. However, his needs to improve his judgment whether or not to take some of the bad shots he takes. He needs to realize that he's not the same McGrady he used to be. If he wants to take tough jumpers, he needs to be working on it during practice and the prove himself that he can hit those type of shots.

Another thing that bothers me is when he doesn't have the ball, he stands around and watch something to happen. He needs to be more assertive of what he needs to do when he's with the ball or without the ball. Same goes for his defense.

In that sense he hasn't been playing on par with our offense lately.

I do agree, but you have to pay attention to the game. T-Mac, eventhough he should be fully acclimated to the system and able to get open on every play, was not doing that. His slump may account for his reluctancy to take shots and play his role in the offense, who knows? But the bottom line is, he was not getting good shots, and was not hitting shots, and that led to a lack of confidence.

It's the same reason you run post plays for Yao when he's going poorly.
