Nets Definitely Looking To Deal Carter?
February 19, 2008 - 5:43 pm
HoopsWorld -
Word out of New Orleans following the All-Star break is that the Nets are hoping to deal Vince Carter before Thursday's deadline, according to HoopsWorld.

A deal has been discussed between the Pacers and Nets involving Carter and Jermaine O'Neal, but other teams could come into play for the swingman, as well. [READ]

Alot of people post on here about trading Odom. Well here you go, just a suggestion. With Kobe's pinkie, I believe he could have surgery if we had Carter to go along with Gasol and the squad. Even if he chooses not to have the surgery can you just imagine this starting line up:

Fish
Kobe
VC
Gasol
Bynum

bench

Farmar
Sasha
Luke
Vlad

i'm not against trading LO.... BUT.... if we do, i would want a Defensive Player or someone that can crash the boards for rebounds in return (not Artest).

VC & LO make the same. It would be a straight up move. The only thing is LO only has 1 more year and VC has 4.

i know you didn't mention artest.... that is IMO, the only reason to trade LO right now is for a Defensive Player that can D-Up on the other teams best player as long as it is NOT Artest.

Vince Carter will cause a lot of chemistry issues with Kobe, not a good idea, we need a role player that can defend and is a great set shooter.

We need a small forward that is everything Carter is not. A guy that does not need the ball in his hands to be effective, can hit the three, and play good defense. Say no to VC.

All people look at is scoring, that's all VC does he plays no D doesn't rebound doesn't pass well and last but not least sp18614 he's not a triangle type player......................so why would the Lakers want him ?

Answer me that.

Oh hell no...

if he couldn't maximize his potential w/ Kidd feeding him the ball, his offensive output (and I agree he's a defensive liability) is gonna go down unless he's paired a/ PG like nash or paul

The thing is that he did play really well for a while and then he reverted back to his old ways.

Toronto did everything they could in order to accommodate his development and New Jersey gave him the best passer in the league for him to excel at his game. He left Toronto as an unmotivated softy, and although he'll be leaving New Jersey as a slightly better unmotivated softy, he'll be attached to a bloated contract. Keeping Odom makes more sense... at least he does more of the little things and you don't have to worry about spreading out shots between all the starters, especially when we'd rather have the ball in Kobe's hands than VC's.

IMHO

Avoid Vince Carter, he is a hell of a dunker, probably one of the best if not the best, but he is a cancer and will not improve our team. You also have to question his commitment about winning and winning a championship. I believe he lacks heart.

Go Lakers

(disclaimer: Again IMHO)
