Too limited. He can come in right away and be a Craig Smith spark plug type.

His game won't translate, because he is undersized even by major college bigs. Hansbrough gets by on brute strength and hard work. He has no jump shoot and will not bull NBA bigs around like he does in college. Right now he is Sean May with better work ethic, but he will need a Horace Grant range jumper to even see the floor in the NBA.

Love is not even making a huge impact in college. All you guys picking freshman are living in a dream world. With the exception of Beasley, all the other freshman are works in progress. Guys like Love and Mayo will not be allowed the million shots they take in college, and they will find it a much tougher adjustment. Love would be smart to go back for his sophmore year.

Have you watched Hansbrough since his freshman year? The notion he has no jump shot is ridiculous. He has a very reliable mid-range jumper, and by the way, he shoots 81% from the free-throw line. Also, he doesn't get by on just brute strength. He actually cut down some this year and is more agile than people give him credit for. His perimeter defense is also vastly improved over the past two seasons. He's done a great job the past two years adding the necessary ripples to his game that will be necessary for his transition to the pros. It's unfortunate many fans continue to view him as exactly the same player he was as a freshman.

Amen. I'm surprised you have him ranked so low on your draft board. Everything else aside I can't remember a high motor prospect with any sort of skills (as opposed to a ryan bowen, Darvin Ham type) who hasn't made the NBA transition.
For the sake of comparison, Glen Davis has most of the same problems as Hansbourough but also has a high motor and has wasted no time making an impact on the Celtics.
Maybe on offense, but on defense (which is why teams are scouting him) he will make an impact. Thabeet will be one of those players that doesn't have to score a lot to have an successful career.Cammo101 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
Like Saer Sene? Thabeet is way too raw to be an imediate impact guy. The NBA bigs are going to take him to school for a while before he becomes a stud.
