I'd go for Blount too, he is developing into a decent C in this league.

I've come to like Blount's game. Not too well known for rebounding and defense, but would be enough on this team. Mobile center, and has pretty good size. Contract is a negative, but, I don't know how much that would matter with us.

I'd take on Blount to get Haslem, and, doesn't hurt Blount's an effective player. His lesser areas wouldn't be as much with us than on other teams.

The Mavericks would send Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSegana Diop, Devean George, and another player such as Maurice Ager to New Jersey for Kidd and possibly forward Malik Allen or veteran guard Darrell Armstrong.

Get it done, makes the Mavs less deep, versatile, and athletic, on both ends of the court. Even if Stackhouse is bought out and returns to the Mavs. They do upgrade at PG, but don't upgrade as a team.

Dirk still wouldn't have a top scorer next to him when he gets contained by the defense (as he has over the years and will continue to), and when not scoring well, Dirk's impact on the game drops off a lot. Thus a drop off to the rest of the team, and Dallas goes as Dirk goes.

Not gonna lie, Artest would be a great fit for you guys. Hes an amazing defender and can score. I think he would be a great player and wouldnt cause a problem with team chemistry since he wants to win and of course you guys are a proven winning team.

Udonis Haslem - This would be a dream pickup for the team. I'd be willing to throw a lot at the heat to make it happen, within reason of course.
Lorenzen Wright - Too old and not a shotblocker at all. Could be had cheaply though.
Joe Smith - For the right price he would be a nice addition. I dont think he'd be the physical inside player we need though.
Ryan Gomes (for those who don't know about him... big 3/4 foward with diverse skill, a good rebounder, plays defense, and has some athleticism. Younger player, but smart and mature (went to Providence for 4 years), just lacks PO experience. Underrated player, too, IMO. Overall, I think he'd be a nice fit. I think Minnesota may want to get their younger (younger than Gomes) fowards more minutes, too.) - Offensively he'd be a great fit next to Duncan. According to what I've read he's being exposed on the defensive end. So you'd have to wonder how much faith Pop would put in him. He'd still be a very interesting pickup though.
I'd especially like any of Haslem, Foster, Thomas, Artest, Miller.

From an outsider, I just see Artest and San Antonio being the perfect fit, sort of like Moss for New England. Both have had problems in the past, but going to the ideal situations would make them better. From what I can tell, Bowen is declining and the 3 would be a spot in need. SA may need to make am ove to keep up with the West.

Something like Horry/Barry/Pick for Artest and Douby or something?

Horry's not going anywhere. It'd be the other expirings, maybe Mahinimi and/or the R1 pick.

Artest will likely opt out of his contract this offseason so he's technically an expiring. I can see Sacramento asking for Tiago Splitter and/or taking on SAR or KT to make them trade Artest to you guys.

what happens if he opts and sign somewhere else

then we lose here also, artest is only worth expiring deals,

if he gives us an agreement he would resign or pick his option with us, then its a good deal for us
