I would hate to give up Garcia, and i hope we dont just because we are trying to blow up the roster so quickly.
maybe we cant get rid all of our big contracts in one year and it would be better to just wait it out with guys like Miller and SAR.

Agreed. I have no problem getting Miller. I like Miller a lot. The problem is taking back his large salary pushes us up into luxary tax land and with as much as expirings are fetch the last month or so...I certainly see why Otis would hold out for Garcia to be invovled.
And I can see why Petrie says F no. Garcia's a 26 year old putting up 10+ points off the bench still on his rookie deal. Otis is getting greedy here. He wants his cake(Brad Miller) and to eat it too(Garcia).

Nah i dont see it that way at all. Miller would be a good fit here its no secret. But fact is we are brining in this guy to play a LITTLE defense and get rebounds. To be our FOURTH option. Hell it can be argued hed be our 5th option probably even coming off the bench. Sorry but paying that much for a role player is steep. Garcia would be a deal breaker for me. Personally i think KT outa seattle is a even better fit than miller with way better contract. Garcia would be nice though and id throw JJ in if needed. Young prospect for a yound prospect.

Miller's game that can point your team over top, based on this year, Miller is a solid defender, good rebounder, can block shots, attack the rim, hit midrange jumpers and even 3, and he is a AMAZING passer and at 7 foot to boot.
That should be enough, its not like we are dealing a scrub to the Magic, imagine the paint being clear for Howard because Miller can hit a shot anywhere on the floor.

You're not paying attention then. Brad D >>> than Brad's D of year's past. He's in shape, and having a great season on BOTH ends of the floor, he'll never be a Ben Wallace in his prime defender, that's not his game, but he's MORE than adequate to fill the 5 ESPECIALLY when you D-Ho at the 4. And his overall offense is 2nd to none at the 5.

I just don't think Orlando (or myself) think Miller makes them a title contender. Garcia is probably a deal breaker because he fills our primary concern of getting better over the coming couple of years. Sacto does not gain anything by hoarding Miller IMO. They have to ask themselves if Miller and Garcia are better for them in the long run than having max money to throw at a Brand or Okafor or Josh Smith. IMO Sacto and Orlando would be better off for doing the deal with Garcia in it.

No but it doesn't hurt us either. Like I said before Petrie has stated he wants to be a player in the free agent market in 09 not 08, Miller will expire at that time. So it doesn't hurt us to keep him, especially the way he has been playing. It DOES hurt us though to lose Garcia, which is why Garcia is a deal breaker from the Kings side. I am not saying Orlando should make the trade without Garcia but I do know the Kings should not make the trade with Garcia (unless you want Kenny). Garcia can get you 20 points, hustle, rebound, block shots all coming off the bench. He ain't goin anywhere.

If you don't think Brad makes you a contender (I disagree) then don't trade for him. If you want to "do us a favor" then take Thomas with Garcia for expirings.

Apparently Sacramento wanted Hedo in the Miller deal, which Orlando obviously quickly shot down. I find it kind of odd Sacto gave Bibby away and is in the midst of giving Artest away, but they wanted a borderline all star for an aging big man with 21 million left on his deal. Seems like some inconsistancies there. Oh well, off to the next available big man I suppose.

I'm guessing they were offering Miller + Garcia for expirings + Hedo.

Just like you shouldn't think the Kings would trade Miller and Garcia for just expiring contract.
and a 1st round pick. And it really is Miller and Garcia for the cap space to sign an elite free agent. I'm just surprised Brad Miller is getting the star treatment as Bibby and Artest and getting dumped for nothing.

How is asking for Hedo getting the star treat? You made an offer that we thought was unfair and we countered.

You can't compare biby and miller. We have guards coming out of our ears quality bigs.... Brad and that is about it. Also, brad has produced this year, and biby has not. Look at what San Antonio gave up for 2 months of Kurt Thomas. We would expect similar for Miller, if not more based simply on production. I think the big thing that is being missed is that miller would not only improve Orlando because of his size but his passing. He would become Orlando's best passer, freeing up the guards to do what they love to do: shoot.

Kurt Thomas is an expiring contract, Brad Miller has 21 million left on his deal. That is a huge difference. Brad Miller is not 21 million dollars better than Kurt Thomas. Miller is simply too old and too high a contract player for Sacto to expect to get this kind of sweetheart deal. But, I just don't see the sense in dumping Artest and Bibby for expirings and then hanging onto the 3rd old guy that should be next. It just seems like a halfway rebuild when you could have big time max money by just being somewhat less stuborn and taking back less than your percieved value. If using Garcia to help miller out the door can get a guy like Okafor or Josh Smith or Brand, then that seems like a small price to pay.
