Big Man Hunt Prediction

Post#1 » by Darren » Wed Feb 20, 2008 1:37 pm

The following players are mentioned in rumors:
Kurt Thomas - depend on Sonics decision. He defends well.
Chris Anderson - is he cleared to be back? It's up to the league.
Theo Ratliff - same as Kurt Thomas, but he's undersized.
Nick Fazekas - we can talk 2 days later.
P. J. Brown - it is unlikely. And I don't think we should do it.

I have a wild choice mentioned before - Elton Brown who's dominating the paint in NBDL - 20pts, 11rebs, 2asts, 1blk per game.
I like him more than Fazekas. He's the energetic center who can contribute on both ends. But AJ dislikes rookie. We all know.

Personally, I think Wang Zhizhi can provide instant offense for us.
He knows the Mavs system. And he's experienced in international b-ball.
He can absolutely spread the floor. But I wonder if he's hated by Mark.

Man you piqued my interest until you laid that Wang crap out there.

What about Dale Davis? Is he available and willing?
If we are talking Wang, then why not look at Michael Olakowandi or even Michael Sweetney? What about that kid that Sactown cut? Is he worth mentioning? We need a rating system or something. I like this thread outside the whole Wang thing. Everybody Wang ZhiZhi tonight
If we could just close games with Luka, Kyrie, Green, Maxi, and Wood that'd be great...

Wang actually looked good in the exhibition against the chinese national team this last summer at smu and I have my fingers crossed on Fazekas being able to clear waivers

neither Wang nor Fazekas would help us in the playoffs. perhaps the birdman or kurt thomas could help. don't think anyone else out there we could get would give us something we need. (when speaking in terms of bigman)

Mavs need a defender. Thomas has to be the guy. What about Lorenzen Wright or Brad Miller?

Miller is too expensive.

Wright could cost you JuHoward, Money, and 2nd.

How about Lue for a 2nd
Wright for Howard and $$

If he is healthy and has anything left in the tank, what about:

George/Juwan H./Barea
for
Zo/Parker

That is if George would be willing to go to Miami.

George wants to ride the championship express. Let him stay on the train...

Screw George. He means nothing to this team or these fans. Zo and Parker is a nice deal.

I think Zo's career is probably over after that injury. Lorenzen Wright could be pretty nice to have if we could get him. The Birdman would be nice too if he is still in basketball shape. Im not expecting the Mavs to trade anyone at all so im sure theyll find somebody in free agency... (Justin Williams)

give the guy a break, he's turned himself around and ready to try again. He would be the Mavs' Tank Johnson if we sign him.

What about Ike Diogu or Troy Murphy from Indiana?

Troy Murphy's pricetag is too huge, and Justin Williams would be better than Diogu.
