Stephen A. Says....
Stephen A. just said he spoke to Thorn and the rumors about the 3 way deal is not true. Thorn even said he isnt sure he wants to trade VC yet.
Is it me or does that sound like a smoke screen?

It sounds like Thorn has common sense enough to know that if he isn't getting expirings, picks or prospects back for Half man/Half Overpaid than Vince should stay a Net.

Actually the trade would have gotten him two expiring contracts.
Jason Williams -$8.9 mil
Ricky Davis - $6.8

It means he's content to wait for the right trade, which will likely come in the summer.

What 3-team rumor are you talking about? What teams and players were involved? I haven't heard anything.

He's referring to what Pat Riley has called "Blog B.S."

I would do the deal and I tell you what Miami would be sick with Wade Marion and Vince! Wooowee they could actually maybe even push in to the playoffs
Would bets fans be interested in anything the wolves have?? We have Theo's expriring deal we could probably include buckner and maybe a first... maybe

Besides atm this team really is in all honesty a playoff team.
You really think we are a playoff team? With an all-time, hall-of-fame PG playing on this team, we were tied for 8th in the east. We trade this all-time, hall-of-fame PG and essentially in return we get a decent young PG...and we are somehow gonna make a push into the playoffs?? Am I missing something here? Either you are completely underrating Jason Kidd or overrating Devin Harris. Devin Harris is a nice player but he is not near the level that Jason Kidd is on. In my opinion, our bigs are gonna miss Kidd the most. All those easy baskets they used to get will be harder to come by now.
I do agree that we should wait till the off-season to trade Vince. I don't think anything of real worth is out there for Vince. Just maybe during the off-season a better option comes up. By trading Vince, we are giving up our one true scorer/go-to-guy. The next available option may only come around in 2010 so we are best served by being patient with Vince.

Playoffs are predicated on VC's play. He's going to have to play like an AS again, and we should be able to make 8th or 7th seed.
VC always plays better after AS break.
This time is a wakeup call to VC where he is the one in the spotlight that will make or break what remains of this group. If he wants it enough, he can make this Nets team his own, like Kidd did in 2001.
Of course, also possible, we all play at the same level playing ugly ball, don't defend, don't rebound, overpass, chuck, pass-up open shots, and fail to win another 10 games.
I'll be optimistic and believe in VC. In VC I TRUST>
