Putting a gun to my head I prefer Zach Randolph over Eddy Curry if I had to take one or the other. Please Riley just say no to the waste they call Eddy Curry. He has no motivation to play. He is a BUM!!!!!!! Only thing that gets Curry going is a cheeseburger and a contract year.

As much as Curry scares the hell out of me, I think I prefer him to Randolph because he plays a position of need that is a wekaness league-wide, wehave a good affordable PF in UD, and Curry makes a lot less, so in theory Riley can put his wizard hat on and trade him easier than a bloated Randolph contract.

Heat4life,

I hear ya but teams will do crazy things to get out from under a contract. They are shopping gordon because they know he will get a 10 million a year offer and do not think he is worth it as a 6th man.

We need someone on our team to call fat to keep tradition (Hardaway, Weatherspoon, SVG, Shaq, Walker etc) Who are we calling fat now? Wade?

I would be beyond upset if we traded for Curry. He is easily my least favorite player in the league. This has to be a foolish rumor, as Curry has nothing that will benefit us.

As for NY, they need to stop trying to acquire big money players who can't help their team. They've been on the downhill slide for how many years now? Eight? It's because they keep on recycling huge contracts. I bet they're feeling good now that they have great young talent like Lee and Robinson...or could it be that these are just high energy role players with no star power to complement? If they would have made cap saving moves several years in the past then they would have a lot of options right now, but they didn't and now they're the focal point of every silly trade that's proposed.

Also, if Riley goes after Curry I'll personally go down to Miami and beat him senseless.

Riley refutes. Calls it blog bs. Says Yo Mama to Sam Smith.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/bask ... 0498.story

MIAMI - Heat coach Pat Riley refuted an ESPN report that linked his team to Knicks center Eddy Curry in advance of Thursday's 3 p.m. NBA trading deadline.

Asked specifically about Curry at Wednesday's practice at AmericanAirlines Arena, Riley said, "Wrong. Wrong. That's a blog b.s. Not that I don't have respect for him, but that's blog b.s."

Yep was just about to post that...

So that's the end of it. And by those comments of "we value Ricky and JWill as our free agents"...They're no moves on the horizon...

This is the same Riley who said Shaq wasn't going anywhere a month or two ago.

I have very mixed feelings about this trade. we already have one center who can't rebound and is not really a shot blocker in Mark Blount. We'd be dedicating $17M to two guys that don't hit the boards or give you a defensive presence. And I've never been enamored with Curry's half-assed attitude (and i see that as a direct correlation to his poor rebounding numbers).

On the other side of the ledger...Curry is actually semi competent on the low block on offense and would definitely give the Heat offense that dimension that they're currently lacking. And I agree that with Marion and Haslem on board we can make up somewhat for his rebounding and defensive deficiencies. I also like to think that if there's one coach out there who could light a fire under Curry's ass, it's Riley. Plus, we are definitely buying him for a rock bottom low price. Finally, we need to move JWill and Ricky Davis for something (aasuming Micky wants to pay the tax); if there are no other deals out there, I would go ahead and do it.

I understand where everyone is coming from but Is curry better then blount? What if the hang up is we want Curry but we have to get rid of blount? 25 years old > 31....Curry > Blount.. Remmber 2 years ago when he was 15pt 9 rbs?

Really question? Would you move Blount for Curry??? I would but if its jason williams for curry i say no because of the contract.

Curry- Jerome James-2 rounder for Blount and Willaims
Curry for Jason williams and Ricky Davis :wavefinger: :wavefinger:

Production wise he's very similar to Blount, but how he gets those points is very different. Curry is low block, back to the basket while Blount gets a fair number of his points facing the basket in pick and pop situations.

here is a realistic way to get back on top

let j will and ricky's contracts expire so that we can use the full MLE this summer

1. draft michael beasley
2. sign desagna diop for the MLE

diop/blount
besaley/haslem
marion
wade
?

we would just need to somehow acquire a pg...haslem could be trade bait for that

Curry is owed something like $34m. why would we put ourselves in that position unless it was for a reliable player.

Because Daequan Cook will without a doubt be a better player in the NBA than Jarret Jack...
