why would we throw the picks in? OK i see NJ requiring one since they're taking on smush's contract. But indiana? C' mon JO is at an all time low in value and his contract is horrible, and rumor has it NJ was the one who backed off the JO VC trade due to NJ being concerned with JO's knee. So I would definetly throw a 2nd rounder at NJ, but Indy getting back more than enough; like I said before I actually like ricky.

Let's be clear here, I don't think anything is going to happen with JO because he makes around $21 millions a season. We already on the hook for $17 from Marion and $13 from Wade. Unless Marion goes on a deal for JO (I don't see that happening) then financially makes no sense. I was just playing along basically (hence my use of trade checker
)

dude i mean i know money has a lot to do with it, we're definetly going to be in the luxury next year and arison publicly said he doesn't want to be in it but that is an instant contender. And is only for a year and a half because both marion and JO coming off the books next year and JO definetly doesn't deserve a max contract. And marion might take 12-14 mil a season, which could bring us below the tax after just a year and a half. And we'll have a top 6 pick at least.

But then it would mean we would go with a big in the draft, and therefore if we don't get the #1 pick, we could end up with Hibbert...just say no to him. I'll take Wang Zhi-Zhi over him.

At this point I think the most realistic option is moving Blount (3 seasons) and J-Will and/or Ricky (expiring) for contracts 2 years in length. The trade off is that the same amount of money is basically on the books, but we aren't going to have major cap space this offseason anyway, so we can have major cap space the next year. We do this trade with a team that is could get under the cap significantly this offseason by making this trade, and is willing to take Blounts extra year to make it happen.
Example:
Miami trades:
Jason Williams
Ricky Davis
Mark Blount
Smush Parker
Marcus Banks
Miami receives:
Wally Szczerbiak
Chris Wilcox
Saer Sene
Delonte West
Miami's 08-09 Lineup:
C - Wilcox / Sene
PF - Marion / Haslem
SF - Szczerbiak / Wright
SG - Wade / Cook
PG - (Draft Pick) / West
08-09 cap (including draft pick at 3.5 mill + 1 cap hold): $62,441,181
09-10 cap (including draft pick at 3.7 mill, Marion extended at 12 mill per + 6 cap holds): $44,742,032
Seattle 08-09 Lineup:
C - Swift / Blount / Petro
PF - Collison / Draft Pick
SF - Green / Wilkins
SG - Durant / Banks
PG - Ridnour / Watson
08-09 cap (including draft pick at 3.5 mill, Swift resigned at 4.0 mill): $43,437,573
So Seattle has max cap space this coming offseason, possibly Gilbert Arenas? Either way, they are in cap saving mode now as a total rebuild while we are going more of a retooling route.
We have some decisions to make on Delonte West and Dorell Wright if we go this route, as only getting rid of them leaves us near max space.

Why dont we try and steal ron artest away from the kings? If expring does the trick why not use ours? What the worst thing that can happen? he opts out and we lose him? Trade for him and if anything do a S&T in the offseason?
Brad Miller , Artest for Blount and Willaims 2- Second round picks
They save money on blount for miller and get expiring for artest and 2 second round picks?
