RIP Heath.

His death will be perversely good for the movie's box office.
Not that it wasn't going to be a huge blockbuster anyway, but still...

Anyone ever seen Josie and the Pussycats?

I agree with Eastern Promises (my second NetFlix Flick) is better than History of Violence, but still was a little disapointed. It is very good but falls short of great. Also just watched The Hurricane, very good and The Lifes of Others which is great but you have to read it unless you speak German. The Lifes of Others is about a German (during Communism) official who spys on a play write to see if he is a subversive.

I've seen both versions of 3:10 to Yuma, both are very good.

Speaking of Batman, I am very excited for the Dark Knight, but I am definitely confused about the choice of storyline. there is plenty of content available, why are we forced to re-watch the same storylines as the last batch of batman movies with clooney, kilmer, etc? why not step ahead?

The Lives of Others is excellent.

Recent winners for me:

Let There Be Blood

The Diving Bell and the Butterfly

I assume you mean "There Will Be Blood".

I love the title of "The Diving Bell and The Butterfly" but the synopsis does nothing for me.

Are you referring to a Chinese movie called Internal Affairs, or the movie with Richard Gere?

Its Infernal Affairs. I don't know why they didn't call it Internal Affairs but Infernal Affairs is the official title.

Most recent flicks I saw:

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) - 7/10
The Constant Gardener - 8/10
The Manchurian Candidate (2004) - 7/10

Looking forward to seeing The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Has anyone seen this film yet?

I'm also intrigued about the upcoming film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

By the way, who here are M. Night Shyamalan fans? I was able to read the script for his upcoming film The Happening. Got it when it was still called "The Green Effect". Good stuff. I'm curious to see how the movie turns out.

yeah, i had no ideas going into it, my roommate got it on netflix. maybe i am remembering it more fondly than it actually was. lots of good, down-home, propaganda-driven violence.

Just saw "In the Valley of Elah" I thought it was pretty good, although a bit depressing as my wife put it.

I just saw The Protector (Tony Jaa). One of the best kung fu movies of all time. Story is atrocious but the fight scenes are amazing.
