haha, why, were AI and Melo injured?? have fun with that Duncan matchup too, maybe your team has learned something over the past couple years about winning a game in crunch time

Classy? What are you talking about yunggunz?

I said I hate the way your team plays basketball. I hate AI as a basketball player. I know 15 year old girls who play more straight up no flopping basketball than AI. Basically, the guy is a cheater who the refs love. If you took away all the flopping he wouldn't be anywhere near as effective this consistently. When a defender gives AI a tough time, and Rondo CLEARLY was, he has to resort to flopping and faking so the refs can bail him out. Thats ***** ****! He's singlehandedly destroying the game of basketball. So the less I have to watch him and the rest of the losers and punks on Denver (Kenyon Martin, JR Smith, and Carmelo "I smack people like a 5 year old girl" Anthony) the better off I am and the better off the game of basketball is. Thus, I hope Denver gets SMOKED in the first round by a team that plays real, honest, basketball.

All I can do right now is laugh. I dont even know how you expect a serious response. First you compare AI to a 15 year old girl, then you say he is single handedly "destroying" basketball. When did he start destroying basketball? 10 years ago? And why does KG love AI and think he is one of the best players in the NBA?

Oh, AI is very, very talented. He's an absolute warrior playing through injuries and with his unbelievable endurance. Players around the league love him because he's a small dude with a big heart and big talent. But, the thing is that he's been getting by, for a long time by: jumping into bigger players and dramatizing contact to get to the foul line (not only does he do it... he does it EXCESSIVELY and more than ANY OTHER PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE), he also is the beneficiary of phantom "star calls" (I know that a lot of players get these as well but it's bad when they get them too), and he complains excessively to the referees when he's not getting calls.

AI is a little dude who's thrived off of getting to the free throw line throughout his career. To do so he plays a brand of basketball that is basically "me against the rest of their team." Oh, he can pass the ball well and does so more willingly now than ever. But he's an iso player primarily who can get his shot and if not he'll fake the funk to get the call from the refs. This basically makes him impossible to guard because teams give him the green light to shoot 40% on what are generally considered "bad" shots, and he takes a lot of shots. When he doesn't score through his own talent he can fake and flop his way to the free throw line. These are facts.

AI is destroying the game of basketball by setting a bad example for millions of young people who've come to idolize the way he plays the game. And I personally think that watching AI is sickening and is counter to what is great about the game. This whole "flopping" style of play is a disgrace and I wish that the league would institute some type of rule that would give any player an automatic technical foul for "obvious" dives, much like the rule in soccer where players receive yellow cards for "taking a dive."

And in regards to last night's game it falls under the category of: crappy refs lose control of game and hometeam benefits more due to momentum and fan noise. I don't think there was any bias but the Nuggets simply got more calls and the C's were thrown off their game quite early whereas the Nuggets were able to get into a rhythm early with all the gift calls they got in the first quarter.

Overall though the Nuggets just made more plays than the Celtics and were more prepared/hungry for the win.

Wow. Why is it that every last 4-5 pages of every close game thread turn into an insult fest with opposing fans?

Let's put things in perspective. The refs sucked all-around; both teams got screwed with bad calls - not just the Celts. There were a bunch of phantom calls and non-calls we got the benefit on as well. Tommy conveniently did not notice those (e.g., Powe reaching his elbow out to graze K-Mart's body and get him fouled out? Brilliant!). Enough with the ref excuses.

Denver beat us fair and square. They were agressive. Our defense sucked tonight. KG was a non-factor; Ray couldn't buy a hoop after the first quarter; Big baby barely played; we relied on long distance shots instead of driving to the hoop; the guys looked tired and and played it like a pickup game.

The Celts are the superior team here - no doubt. Denver should say thank you, move on and hope they make the playoffs this year. Meet the Celtics in the finlas? No chance in hell. Teams that don't play defense don't make it to the finals, and if there was ever an example of such a team the Nuggets are it. They were throughout the '80's and they are again now. Entertaining? Yes. Playoff effective? No way.

There was bad officiating but it didn't favour one team over the other. There were horrible calls both ways.

Please whenever you hear your home announcers making excuses of bad officiating, ask yourself if it really was bad. And notice when your team gets the breaks too.

Looks like we need a healthy KG to beat the Nuggets, that's all that can be determined from last night.

I wonder though in the playoffs if Doc would continue to have us push the ball as we so often did. Greg mentioned that's what Doc said in the time-outs... yet pre-game the announcers were talking about how we don't want to play DEN's game and we want to slow down the game... I don't know I think we should of slowed it down, DEN is so used to pushing the basketball that they fell into a lot of charges.

After watching the Nuggets feed I can't honestly believe that you think Tommy is any worse than your announcers. At least Tommy teaches the audience about basic basketball strategy when he's not being a homer.

To sum up the officiating. MICHAEL FELGER thinks we got screwed.
