Yeah, I am not surprised it was dead. However, I think the Magic were focusing on Kurt Thomas and since they didnt get him I could see them going after Brad again and maybe offering more.xx_skaterdude_xx wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
Nope, if the deal was at all true, Kings put a deadline on it (8 AM this morning) and the Magic passed on it. It's dead, according to a few people.

How are the Kings in a catch 22? They basically control the market with him right now or at least to a point. If they dont move him, the Kings keep an amazing player and have the upper hand to resign him. However, they also will have the ability to sign and trade him which could net a lot too. So until a team offers the Kings what they want, I dont see him leaving.gsuteke wrote:You guys seem to be getting rid of everybody that isn't nailed down!
The Kings are in a Catch 22. If they don't trade Artest he isn't going to be open to sitting on the bench with a contrived injury because isn't he planning on opting out of his contract?
The Kings HAVE to move him it seems.

I think this is a decent deal, but would hold out for Scola.
We really need Scola , sorry.
I will be willing to add a 1st also , I heard you guys really like Brooks , I hope our gm isn't dumb and stubborn and will insist on not trading him if it can get us Artest , Brooks is good but we need Artest.

Well from some of what I have read, the Kings were almost willing to make a big splash at the draft last year by taking Brooks at 10. So, I think he is high on the Kings Radar. I think if we get a 1st plus Brooks things would be more likely too happen.Shabi__5 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-

Yeah I guess thats true. The one thing I dont like is the fact they will have the upper hand at bringing him back, and yeah I just dont like that.
I wouldnt be to sure on that, Ron is going to run his own fate, he is going to opt out and ask for 14 million a year as he already said very few teams that can offer that.

That would be a great deal IMO.
We wont have to take on anymore players and it might help us get some room to move Miller and KT.

Yeah, I think he does opt out. If he does that team that trades for him has his Bird Rights and because of that can offer more money then anyone else.AnDrOiDKing4 wrote:-= original quote snipped =-
