Not really. You know Otis doenst really reveal much to the media and he plays hard ball at times. Plus why say "Yea we are trying really hard to make a trade". Doesnt benefit him or the team saying that right now.

Totally understand what your saying but is it only me that gets extremelyyyyyyyyyyyyy annoyed by hearing what he says.

From the article it sounds as if hes totally happy with the team now and doesnt feel like making a trade and this is coming after he publicly said he was searching for a PF not even a week ago.

I guess i gotta keep telling myself theres more to what he says :dontknow:

Yea Otis will deny anything and everything, and then do it 5 minutes later. He doesn't like to tip his hat at all, he likes to operate in the shadows and in the back rooms.

Obviously there hasn't been a deal today or yesterday because of our games. I don't think Otis wants to risk throwing the team off on two critical nights. I think we'll do a deal tomorrow before the deadline.

And I'll believe anything thethief says over MC Confid any day!

How was it a lucky win? Orlando played good and won the game. That is not luck.

is this still possible with thomas going to SA, maybe wilcox, petro, and ridnour/watson for expirings?

How come he won't trade JJ to fill a position of need? He's not even playing, and they knock his defense every chance they get. Is it maybe because he want's JJ for insurance in case some of our guards leave in the off-season??

The Sac trade was too pricy. Luxury tax on one end, the Kings wanting Hedo as well on the other.

Now it is down to whether or not the Magic want to give up a future 1st rounder and take on Watson's contract, with Wilcox. They may have to give up Reddick as well.

Miller would be perfect here, but if the Kings want Hedo (per Denton) than they are crazy.

I don't understand though. From the way Sacto got rid of Bibby, I would think that they would want to get rid of an aging Miller and his contract for picks/expirings/young players. The way Hedo has been playing, they would have to know that the Magic were not going to give him up. Maybe they were just bluffing? Plus, assuming they do want to get rid of Miller, the Magic should have the leverage in the trade talks since they are playing so well and could tell the Kings they don't "need" Miller and that the Kings should take a deal without Hedo or leave it.

That seems like a very reasonable assumption. I know there are a lot of Otis-haters out there at times but I must say that I'd hate to be playing poker with that guy. In my opinion that is one of his best qualities as a GM. I think the Detroit game does show that we can indeed go deep into the playoffs if we just play defense and rebound like Van Gundy keeps preaching.

Looks like Denton was right about Otis' college scouting trip. Some ppl on EBSports have some crow to eat.

thEthIEf wrote:idk...from what i hear what's holding us up is that Otis really wants a wing guy in return he's trying to land a 2 and a 4 in the same deal...meh...for what its worth...

EDIT: in addition to Otis wanting to get a 2/4 deal most teams pressing for JJ and or a first, Otis is reluctant to ship either...

sounds like the guy is either a)stuck on JJ and sees the greatness he possesses or b)he's making it seem like JJ is god's gift to basketball in an attempt to look less foolish for drafting him...

again this info came from one source that i know, who really doesnt know too much about the magic, but the team this person does know had contact with Otis...

that's right, thief has connections too haha

this is the assumption i made off everything i've read. i don't have contacts beyond you guys on the RealGM board.

what's the deal with trading a player after he's been traded? he can still be moved within 48 hours of being acquired right? could we possibly pull a deal of Collison/Wilcox + Barry + Watson/Ridnour? or some variation of a combo within that? (Collison + Barry/ Wilcox + Barry/ Collison + Watson etc)??

Barry would be a great addition to this team. veteran Savvy with title winning experience. can play PG/SG swing. would be great next to Jameer.

** i'm aware that there could be many holes in this proposal.

Which part?

If you're talking about Denton, Denton mentioned to Glyde yesterday that Otis was on a college scouting trip and ppl over on the EBSports site mocked that info. They suggested that Denton didn't know what he was talking about and why would Otis be on a scouting trip. I think ppl on this board questioned that info as well in the SAC trade thread.
