Kurt thomas gets sonics 3 first rounders!!!

IS that the greatest GM move of all time.You get 3 first round picks for kurt freaking Thomas? I think most didn't notice that

2007 July 20: Traded by the Phoenix Suns along with first-round draft choices in 2008 and 2010 to the Seattle SuperSonics for a second-round draft choice and an $8 million trade exception.

2008 February 20: Traded by the Supersonics to the San Antonio Spurs for Brent Barry, Francisco Elson, and a 2009 First round pick.

Sonics got 3 first round picks for Half a season of Kurt thomas?? Why cant we do something like that and give the first rounder to minny already!!

They had a huge trade exception from the Ray Allen trade, and the Suns were a tax team, and wanted to get under. Sonics took advatnge

We didn't have that type of asset (TE)..And the Spurs wanted some more reliable inside help. So they gave up something..

I understand that but think about this from a far.The sonics Gm went and got kurt Thomas and 2 first round picks and then a couple of months later sent Thomas to SA for a First rounder!

When kurt Thomas was told that he was worth 3 first rounders his response was this..

The Spurs are at it again. They sure are good at picking out role players. Horry, Bowen, Finley, Barry, Mighty Mouse, and now KT. Give them credit for that.

I wouldn't have gave up Barry though. He's awesome. He's got to be pissed going back to Seattle. We could use a guy like him. He can handle the ball, pass, and his three ball is $.

Great trade for the Spurs. Gives them another needed big body in the West.

Spurs would probably draft another european that won't be ready for the NBA for a few more years. The chance to win another Championship is more attractive. As for the Sonics, they are about to become the Atlanta Hawks West. It took Atlanta about 6 years to get to where they are today with all those picks; borderline playoff team.
