Granger or Deng

Its close in my eyes. Push comes to shove, and I would probably take Deng. I dont agree with whoever said Granger can never become an All-Star. Just because he is 25 years old doesnt mean he has reached his ceiling. Your prime is 26-29 generally, and Danny is only in his third season. He is still learning the NBA game. I think next year or the year after (depends on how much success Indiana has), he will be in the discussion for an All-Star spot.

Wow I knew Chicago was having a bad year but people are actually taking Danny Granger over Luol Deng? That's just not right. Deng is the better passer, rebounder, commits less turnovers, better defender, has a better midrange game and is younger. All Granger has on Deng is a better 3 point shot and better FT shooting.

Yeah this is deng He is pretty much better than granger is now at almost everything except ft and 3pt shooting. I can post stats if anyone really wants to see . Deng has been battling injuries and he has still posted better numbers than granger.

Who's Granger going to make the all-star game over at his position?

- Pierce? Nope.
- Butler? Nope.
- LeBron? Nope.
- Jefferson? Nope.
- Marion? Probably not.
- Josh Smith? Probably not either.

Probably not over Deng or Prince either.

Cliff Levingston doesn't think it's unreasonable to predict that he'll never be an all-star.

Cliff that is such a stupid, ignorant way to figure if a guy is an all-star down the line or not. 2 years ago you would have said no way would Caron be an all-star and point to a bunch of guys putting up better numbers. Same thing with guys like David West, Antawn Jamison, Josh Howard, Memo Okur. The fact of the matter is that Danny is more then capable of being a 22+/7+ player and those are easily all star numbers.

I think if you asked GMs around the league if they'd rather have Deng or Danny, almost all of them would say Danny quite easily.

The amount of homerism in this thread is ridiculous, this is Deng, and it's not even close, and Granger is a local guy that I love.

Granger is 24, not 25.
Anyways, Granger is solid, but Luol should win this easily - he is a future all-star, and people are just forgetting about him due to injury/the bulls playing like cr*p.

On the year he's at 18/6, and just based on that he's not far off from all-star numbers at all. Over the last 18 since he has started to get in to a groove without JO he's at 22/6, and that's with some real bad games lumped in there, and untill the last 6 or 7 games, its far from being the best stretch of ball Danny's played. Now he's turned a corner, and you shouldn't be surprised when his average is around 20 ppg by the end of this season.

I hate doing all this stat crunching, because really its not all that good of a measurement, but as for the all-star game, and I think the trends show that its quite obvious Danny will be putting up standard all-star offensive numbers very soon.

Deng has proven himself to be a complete cupcake when it terms to dealing with drama. He might have a high basketball "IQ", but he's certainly very weak minded and I would take Granger over him any day.

Granger easily. Deng is one of the few players that I have seen CONSISTENTLY pull up for stupid jumpers on the FASTBREAK time and time again... It's not just a couple of game trend either he's been doing this for YEARS!

Granger. So what if he's 3 years older? I don't think Deng will improve much more than he has, just from judging his game. Plus I think Granger is a better defender.
