This doesnt make sense.

This is the first game after he left.

We knew M. Will was due for something better after the summer league. We also know Frank really sucks with PT and should have given M. Will more PT to get back to what he was doing in the summer league.

Lets just relax for a bit. This was the first game back from the All Star Game, Kidd Trade, and a win in OT agains the Bulls.

People Need to Relax!!!!!!!!!!!

on the game...

Marcus has game. He made a lot of mistakes especially by making weak passes but that stuff is to be expected in his first real game. I expect him to grow out of the mistakes he made. It's also easier to reduce mistakes than to teach passing/playmaking skills which marcus intuitively has. I was actually surprised as to how loose he was able to play and make passes most points would not try. I would also try playing Devin at the 2 with marcus during rotations in which either RJ or Vince are on the bench.

Also, trenton hassel plays beautiful D.

Diop needs to be a better rebounder. He's long but doenst seem to have fast reactions and strong hands so the ball continues to be batted around.

Play STRO because Boone should not be playing 40 minutes a night. For the first time ever, we have too many serviceable big men. 6 if you count Mags.

Nenad: 20
Boone: 25
Sean: 26
Stro: 14
Diop: 11

Trade magliore by 3PM.

Frank's incompetence was never more apparent than when he tried to run that RJ post up with Marcus and Boone OVER AND OVER again. Not only was he guarded well by his primary defender, he had wallace just waiting for him to catch the ball. He didnt even have Boone clear the area. Dont force feed RJ. He's not that guy. If you use Nenad or another shooter it might work; not with boone.

Other than that it good to finally see some pick and rolls.

Most of us on the Nets board don't want JO. We'd rather have VC.

you know all this Kidd talk and whining...come on...who cares...about this year and Kidd...the fact is there was no chemistry w/ this unit...does Kidd have to do w. a lot of that...of course...but we're really failing to realized something...

Kidd had one more year...he was walking regardless...his Jersey venture was coming to an end...we got the max in this situation...so in a twisted way...Kidd did us a favor...

Fact is, whether his head was in it this year or not, due to personal/selfish resasoning...YOU CANNOT DENY no FORGET, what he meant to this franchise...there are very few players who can turn a team around like Kidd did...and I'm very thankful I was able to watch the magic and glue Kidd brought to make this team what it was...

using this year as a measuring stick is absolutely asinine...get used to it...this the NBA player of today, when its time to moving on, players are going to voice there desire...to be honest, it could of been a lot uglier...from what the players stated in the last couple days, Kidd's decision was understood and accepted...sure the flat out reality is the Captain jumped shipped...but what else is knew...different player, different team...wasnt the first time and wont be the last time you'll see this situation in the NBA...you want to take it personally, then you dont understand how this is really a business...

the team and fans no longer come first anymore...this has been the evolution of professional sporst...get used it...

SIC ...step up and give props to Vince's performance last night...be a man...and admit, he basically got carried off the court after putting every last ounce of energy into that overtime win...

Jac, What's Up?

Sorry but I cant do that. I am not a glass half full guy.

VC has to do more then score 30 points in an OT win against the Bull in the first game after the All Star break to con-Vince me. VC is suppose to do this even when Kidd was here. VC does this all the time. Nice game only to give us an disappointing performance. If he can give this type of effort 3 out of 4 games and not 1 out of 4 games, then this board will get that out of me.

Philly is 2-0 after the allstar break. The Pistons are 0-2 losing to Magic and Bucks.

This game doesnt change my mind about VC and what the Nets should do.

i think vince has been doing that recently. If his shot was off I couldn't complain about the energy he's been playing with for a good 4-5 games now or whenever the Laker game was. He's not always gonna have 30+ and he'll have off nights like everybody in the L so if he keeps matching the energy, then I have to say I like him.

If he has this kind of performance every 3 out of 4 games he'd easily be the best player in the league. :wavefinger:

S.I.C.

Do you not see a difference in VC in this game and the rest of the other games this year?Is the guy allowed to be not so confident? Is he allowed to not be so agressive or consistent when it is widely known that he has been unhealthy for the whole year????

In tonights game he played like the healthy VC,He has been shooting a pretty good 44% from the feild this year so it's not like he is not making shots. He just hasn't been the main guy because he COUDNT.

He now being healthy,is free to play like he is able too and with Kidd gone he is also free to get many touches.

The fact is that Carter has been very good in NJ since he arrived,he didn't play well at all in last years playoffs but he has been good. The only other time Carter has ever averaged around 20 points other than his rookie year was in 2003 because of injuries.Carter will average near 30 points a game from now on if he continues to get his touches and stays healthy.

Anyone hear anything definitive about why Stromile Swift didn't play in the Bulls game? I didn't see him in uniform on the bench...

Is he injured, or did he lose whatever headway he was making in the rotation with all the great talent the Nets brought in with the Kidd trade?

Good win for the new look Nets. Hopefully they can remain competitive the rest of the year. In the East, they are good for a 6-8 seed.

A title run? I'm asking to be above .500, and my point is with this team, there is a lack of scoring, and Kidd being the "superstar" of the team, should be able to contribute some what in that aspect. He was shooting 11 ppg on less than 40% shooting on good looks and he was just playing terrible, throwing unforced stupid turnovers time and time again. Give us a REAL elite PG in the NBA today and we'd be above .500 without a doubt.

Stomach virus.

The Nets were back on the court on Monday night for their first practice following the all-star break. With the trade machinations circulating

Kidd is a real elite PG. The problem is that this team still isn't good defensively.
